General announcement:

On October 26th CPK will be hosting a outlaw cut at the compound and there will be a small knife show as well. I'll grill up some steaks.

We're not going to have a hayride, we're going to have a hey! ride

(Alcohol abuse, irresponsible discharge of firearms, and forklift jousting is optional)

F YES.......

Parties start quickly when you are enjoying some 10%+ beers (shenanigans begin waaaaay sooner too lol)

In his defense, an uppity punk kid confronted him in what was probably a bit of an embarrassing circumstance, as he had years and years of experience and his methods simply didn’t work. I’m sure he was a really good guy, and if I could do it all over again, I’d handle it differently.

We all get wrapped up in our own bullshit, and it’s really easy to get lost in your own perspective.

It doesn’t change the fact that remembering that we don’t have all the answers is a crucial aspect of learning. The moment I’m convinced I’m right, I can almost guarantee I’ve got it wrong. 🤣
You keep on being so thoughtful and reasonable and people might start to think you’re an OK guy….
This is why you shouldn't dismiss ideas fun someone purely because of their age. If a punk kid's argument was "in my two or 3 years of experience" then the master smith with 46 years would have an argument. Since the argument was "your results were bad because of xyz, which can be tested and proven" the argument of "I've been doing it this long" is stubborn and arrogant. Cognitive dissonance is a real thing. Ego holds lots of people back from advancing.

Medford made a similar argument when people complained about the hrc on his magnacut blades. Not sure if that's still the case or not though. That kind of thing really makes me shy away from purchasing their products. I appreciate businesses that really try to improve and I try to support them when I can.
Medford. Not even once.

Damm it!...

It seems that my rather large ornamental Wisteria vine has a significant invasive bug infestation!

The Kudzu bug... I believe it to be a smaller sized cousin of the stink bug. :(

Tomorrow, I'm planning on doing a severe pruning job to that entire leafy green vine growth above the wood trellis.

And then I'll have to drag all those cuttings down the back property woods slope to a composting area. 🥵

I'll probably also need to go to my local Ace Hardware store and source some Permethrin concentrate to spray down the remaining thicker brown bark non-leafy vines.

Extermination to all those pesky Megacopta cribraria! 🤬

Good luck on your battle my friend!

Behold. Mark's lava pumpkins

The red Savina habanero

The habanero peppers that you buy at the grocery store are almost kind of a joke. They're about as hot as the jalapeno used to be. And the jalapeno is about as hot as a poblano pepper anymore. SMH

If you've ever had a full potency garden grown habanero, then you understand what that pepper really is.

These lava pumpkins are like those, but on steroids. It has a thick fruity flesh and the highest heat level (upwards of 600,000) that I'm able to tolerate. Mind blowing peppers. It actually takes some adjustment to enjoy these, but your heat tolerance builds quickly.
