Rant on...

Is it just me, or do people worry waaay too much about food safety and knives!? I have seen threads about all kinds of things, wondering if they pose a food safety risk, like:

pivot lube,
the burr leftover from sharpening,
G10,
stabilized wood handles,
micarta handles,
carbon steel,
patina on carbon steel,
vinegar forced patina on carbon steel

FFS! I have literally never once wondered if something on my knife was food safe! Bunch a nancies would be positively apoplectic, clutching their pearls, if they knew what all my pocket knife got used for before cutting an apple. Wipe the blade off and get on with it.

I gotta start reading the room eh?

hope everyone out there in Florida ends up on the right side of things.

Also Wyoming. half the state is on fire I heard.
And NW North Dakota. Almost 90,000 acres on fire up here.

Wherever you are stay safe! Be careful, and be prepared. Take care out there. Wild times.

Also: tinfoil hat timmy tinfoil hat timmy , are you at Cabela's again??

Wife took truck to dealer for oil change and to diagnose an oil drip. I was working in the woods out of service. They did the oil change but didn’t have time to diagnose the oil drip even though she had an appointment and it was there 5 hours. They said they think it is probably the gasket on the oil pan and they need to keep it overnight. Who does an oil change right before pulling off the oil pan to check the gasket. 🤬 Now I have to drive 2 hours, one way, up there to get her after work. I definitely should start doing it myself. But you know we take it in cause it’s easier.

The "Upsale Even on Service". Is this the new vehicle dealer model?!?! Drives me crazy. I once took a COMPANY CAR Ford Taurus in for an oil change. While waiting 2.5 hours, I had not one but two salesman come up to me and offer 1st a set of chrome wheels w/tires for a blowout price (told him it was a company car) and 2nd a set of aftermarket leather seats that they do there, 'cause he noticed I had cloth, again (company car).

Is that the new sales tactic? Keep you there until you lose your sanity and buy stuff?? Drives me crazy.......

Not saying they did that to you, M Mendoman as you had an actual problem, but I just hate dealing with vehicle dealers, and your post struck a nerve! 🙂

Agreed. I should have just bought an old Ford.

I’ve told my wife, when it’s time for a “new” car,
Restored ‘55 something or other. I know how to fix it. When it starts to go, get something else interesting.
People in the ‘50s & ‘60s didn’t know they were driving collectibles and got their groceries rain or shine.

Must of flew by my radar then again I seldom frequent anywhere else but here. Being concerned about potential harmful chemicals not meant to be inside your body is actually pretty fucking smart if you value life and not getting sick. Lump me into that Nancy class if it increases the chances I will stick around longer to look after the well being of my family.
