I don’t like blade coatings of any sort. I also wipe blades off after sharpening (and after use). I wipe blades before cutting food unless they are kitchen knives stored properly. Carry blades that will have contact with food and are not ‘stainless’ get wiped with mineral oil or PAM spray when put away.

Food safety is important, and I have taken care of very sick patients with food borne illnesses. That being said, knowing what goes on with animal slaughter houses, and hearing stories from butchers, and seeing conditions in fields where crops are harvested- the last thing regarding my food safety involves my knives.

Usually, but not necessarily. If the probability of that sample being found when the conclusion is not true is really really low then it could be enough.

The running gag here is based on a joke about something that Bob Loveless said, which is that a knive handle should be as comfortable in your hand as if you were holding your own dick. That is actually something the late and great Mr Loveless once said.

Looking at some of the handle designs that Lorien has come up with, we have determined he is uncircumcised.

The handle for the K18 is clearly not the work of one of the white guys in the shop...

Ask yourself this: would somebody who knew nothing about CPK (and wouldn't see the logo) recognize that these all come from the same maker ? If yes, Why ?

I think some of the designs Lorien made with the FK2, like the flaring of the base, were on some level incorporated into other designs.
I might be completely wrong though.

For those playing along at home, the storm moved south of us and stayed south of us. Lots of wind and rain, little damage to what I can see of the neighborhood. We didn't even lose power which is unheard of during a storm of this level, in this area. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.

Must of flew by my radar then again I seldom frequent anywhere else but here. Being concerned about potential harmful chemicals not meant to be inside your body is actually pretty fucking smart if you value life and not getting sick. Lump me into that Nancy class if it increases the chances I will stick around longer to look after the well being of my family.

And too many folks think only of the short term. “Well, it didn’t kill me, so it’s fine”. There are a lot of things where the effects are cumulative, especially the carcinogenic ones.
