Random Thought Thread

Dang it I keep forgetting about that. Been to busy this weekend. Maybe I’ll look tomorrow right after sunset.
It wasn't too hard to find. Admittedly we have pretty dark skies but it was visible with a lot of glow left from the sun and a big gibbous moon. Picture was from about 50 minutes after sunset (sunset based on location/weather underground, not by observation). Visible almost on the line between Venus and Arcturus, very slightly closer to Venus. I think the nucleus will be right on that line tomorrow. Not as low in the sky as I had feared.

They always have a manual option.
Could be the thing on the right. Sometimes the sensor is also a button. In any case, there is always a manual flush option because a lot (most) are battery operated and people don’t change the batteries.
This information given freely not just to reduce future stressful situations for you Timmy, but also to reduce future stress for those that may show up after you.
I couldnt find the damn manual function.

Here's my random thought for the day

Apparently, there are more ways to shuffle a deck of 52 cards than there are atoms in this galaxy.

So, even though it's physically possible to shuffle a deck of cards twice and get the same order, statistically speaking it's essentially impossible that there has ever been two decks of cards shuffled in the same order.

This is a great example of something that is physically possible but will never happen. Not in a million billion years.

I wonder if the odds of developing intelligent life capable of leaving a planet are similar odds?

I've always assumed there's other intelligent life in the galaxy.

But maybe that was a bad assumption?
