I think I'll put some bottle caps up between my 4" plates. What distance are we talking about here?

Speaking of instruction, can I put in a plug for Gunsite Academy? Speaking from a perspective of having carried almost daily since the mid-80's, burned through many tens of thousands of rounds, and never having had occasion to defend myself with a firearm (thus thankfully not qualifying as an expert in the subject), I think they do a pretty good job... especially eye opening is the force-on-force exercise with simunitions in classes like 350.
This year it was 22 yards from the crack in the floor to the stump. I think I read that there will be an improved set up next year. 20 yards is a reasonable starting point.
My wife was disappointed that I didn't win it so this gives me the excuse for more range time this year. Come next October, my 20 yard bottle cap precision will be on point!

Beer bottle cap

22-24 yards

Full power pistol, offhand.

I'm no crack shot, I can only hit it about a third of the time. I left a wide window of opportunity but Mark had an unlucky shot and missed it by a fraction, and Richard had eaten candy from a stranger.

The Sunday after the Outlaw cut we had our Sunday shootout. Everybody puts 20 bucks in a hat and the winner takes all, unless there is more than one winter in a particular round and then it is split.

We got a really late start because the film crew was here, but next year I hope to do a few rounds of it.

I've got a hydraulic transmission on a piece of heavy equipment. It's driven by a Cummins 4BT.

The hydraulic fluid is filtered and the filter is attached to the little bung

I've got another transmission that's about complete but there's nowhere to attach that filter because there's no bung on that hole

Bunghole huh huh

What is that threaded insert attached to? I don't see any threads in there and I can't imagine it's just a press fit. What am I missing here?

I absolutely cannot understand why a free people allow their state to make these dictates. Make it make sense.

I view the right to self-defense as a God-given inalienable right.
It was all set in motion before my lifetime, mind you we never established our independence from Britain the same way you did so we have no constitution and guns/self defence was never specifically addressed. Guns themselves are considered a privilege, we have no rights to them.

The problem as I see it, 95% of Australians live in major cities or within a short distance of them. It's become a very urbanised country where people aren't exposed to guns, hunting etc. And they easily buy into hysteria.

We get one shot at life, I don't see how the government can determine the limits I have to protect it. Some states are worse than others, I'm in one of the worst. I've been trying to move for 13 years but my gf/wife has been a stick in the mud.

Screw it, here's an egregious example:

Two guys tried busting down a blokes door (he did shag one of their gf's) all the while screaming that they were going to kill him. Shitting himself he grabbed a kitchen knife and when one did break open the door and come at him he stabbed the guy and killed him.
He was then charged for excessive force because they were unarmed. Never mind they could have beaten him to death and were planning and threatening to do so.

I have a wife and three kids with the fourth due in a few weeks. I will protect them at all costs, come what may.
