Yeah, it was apparently pretty well ruined by that dip in the snow. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø I tossed it out into my aunt’s pasture this evening trying to hit a stupid coyote. Looked like it just bounced off the little bugger and broke into several pieces. I don’t know why Nathan would do me like that. 😲 🄸

This is an upslope storm (low pressure, counter-clockwise flow with moisture coming in from the east), so we typically get a lot more snow on the East slope than they do out on the West slope. That said, I don’t know if they got anything out that way or not. There’s another storm coming in Friday that might bring some. Could also possibly dump another foot here… 🄶 😩

I sometimes hunt 4th Rifle up just North of Meeker. However, since the bad winter kill a few seasons ago, most all license codes were reduced to only 10 tags per hunt code (some of these hunts had over 1,000 tags available before) in most of the NW part of the state. Haven’t even attempted to go back up there yet. I’m not Elk hunting at all this year. o_O  (Lots of reasons…)
I have to laugh at the first part of this post. šŸ‘šŸ¼

However, the second part and previous weather pattern references have me contemplating where you’re at. Approximate location, please. Thanks bud ! šŸ™šŸ¼

So…..I’m half a glass into ……a glass of Tito’s. And playing with knives. Naturally …..

So I want a Carothers to carry under my vest. (Police). I currently carry an Entrek…double edge dagger. About a 6ā€ blade. Slim profile. Last resort type knife.

Nathan have anything similar?
Just my humble opinion. If you are in any type of uniform patrol, like blues said. You probably want something that is easy to deploy carried on your duty belt, vest or plate carrier. Also used with your non shooting hand as a weapon of opportunity. Like blues stated in some sort of ground fight as you are trying to retain your weapon in a life or death situation. It should not be to big as your supervisor and the public might frown upon it. If you’re in a tactical unit like srt, you can get away with something bigger as you’ll be suiting up for an operation. It won’t be carried full time or in the eyes of the general public. You’ll be operating in a stack and you shouldn’t see yourself in that situation. Maybe to free yourself self on a fast rope, rappelling etc. A dek 2 is a fine choice. Oh and I was the one who purchased the boot dagger at 1k, totally worth it to me.

How easily can you access it in a tussle or from a grounded position?

(I was never in uniform for normal duty, and when I was on SRT, my knife was worn on the outside of my gear.)

that's pretty much exactly what DEK3 was designed for
Lorien Lorien thanks for recommendation, I don’t follow the knife boards as much as I once did, and keeping track of all the knives out there. Less slush funds, so to keep temptation down, I limit exposure to knives I can’t live without. BUT, now I’m going to look for one.

I’ve grappled a couple times in full uniform, practiced deploying the dummy knife from under my vest. I can access it the majority of the time, just depends on position. If someone is laying across my chest in cross position, no, but the majority of the time it’s there.

Also, per policy….we aren’t even supposed to have a pocket knife ā€œvisibleā€ while in uniform. But nothing in policy against carrying fixed or folder. So that’s why it has to be under my vest.

Not to steer business away from CPK, but the Clinch Pick seems tailor made for your needs. Might be worth a look?

Craig Douglas is a friend, retired LEO, and highly respected trainer. I also would recommend having a look at the Shiv Works site. He offers a few items that would fit the bill but for the length you are currently using. Worth checking to see if anything might suit your need.

Actually

Monkeys don't like me. They have a hard-on for me.

They lose their shit.

I hate monkeys

I would like to clarify

They literally have a hard-on for me and they literally lose their shit.

That was not metaphorical speech
