This was cold. Mt. Washington in the White Mountains of NH on Washington's birthday weekend a long time ago. Way below zero, very high winds, terrible sleeping conditions...and three hikers / climbers lost their lives on the mountain that weekend. We, my buddies and I, were fortunate.
(This was an annual rite for us for a while.)

I'm no longer signing up for such outings.

GOOD LORD MAN!

I might have the most well-travelled EDC-2024 in the CONUS...

CONUS maybe. But the international scene gets wild.

I've had stuff go through Guam to get to Canada. Actually more than once.

Got this today from somebody in Europe.

A package that lost some shipping information in customs I guess. Box shows up and they don't know where to send it but they figured out who I was and sent me an email. Actually pretty cool.

Intercontinental shipping is a real problem sometimes.

.... I really need to get some international dealers.

That’s pretty cool of them to do that.

I do shudder at the prospect of international dealers. If there’s one thing Aussie businesses are good at doing it’s finding a monopoly on a product and marking it up magnitudes.
A standard buck 110 runs around $200 here.

@clinton1

I had sent a DM to our mutual friend, Tensegrity Tensegrity , who lives up in Northern VT to ask if he had a recommendation for a good maple syrup, and if he did, would he recommend one that was available online through Amazon or such.

He very generously, and somewhat stubbornly, (you have to know the guy), insisted on sending me some from a neighboring farm / friend that produces the elixir. A few days later, a box was received meticulously packaged and secured in a manner that even @Jo the Machinist would admire.

What I have here is a selection of pure maple syrup in Golden, Rich Amber and Dark Robust flavors...all of which are simply fantastic. And every waffle or pancake consumed is all the sweeter for the generosity of a friend.

For your tireless, and supremely patient, energies herding the CoC.... er, cats.
Some delicious calories for the coming season. Thanks E.

Great healing powers in the woods! I would love to know more about your salve.
Nothing too high tech. Just found a few ingredients that seemed to overlap in what I was seeing in major and fancy/local/$$ brands and started there. I use beeswax, almond oil, pitch (blue/white/Norway spruce in mine), coconut oil and shea butter. Tinkered around with the amounts of each until it had a consistency I liked once at room temp.
