Random Thought Thread

Nothing too high tech. Just found a few ingredients that seemed to overlap in what I was seeing in major and fancy/local/$$ brands and started there. I use beeswax, almond oil, pitch (blue/white/Norway spruce in mine), coconut oil and shea butter. Tinkered around with the amounts of each until it had a consistency I liked once at room temp.
Thank you sir. I have never made any sort of salve/balm, but as much as I use it I think it might be worth a try.

When my new EDC arrives, I'm writing "Neck Knife" on the blade with a Sharpie, tying a paracord necklace on the sheath, and wearing it around my neck. None of you can stop me or change my mind. Have a nice evening.

I think if you strop with diamond schmoo and lay the blade a little too flat, the writing will come right off...

CONUS maybe. But the international scene gets wild.

I've had stuff go through Guam to get to Canada. Actually more than once.

Got this today from somebody in Europe.

A package that lost some shipping information in customs I guess. Box shows up and they don't know where to send it but they figured out who I was and sent me an email. Actually pretty cool.

Intercontinental shipping is a real problem sometimes.

.... I really need to get some international dealers.
Here is a positive example: i recieved every shipping from you within 4 Days. The fastest was 3 Days.
That is faster than any domestic shipping in the EU. Everything in perfect condition, as always!

So thank you for your service!

You should come bike the Iditarod Invitational. 30 days of freezing on a fat bike does NOT sound fun to me at all!

I watch it every year. I’m neither strong enough, nor willing to risk it, at this point. But I won’t lie, it calls to me. It’s enough to just get out and expose myself to the elements, now and then.

Can’t wait to see Lael Wilcox kill the 1000 mile event this year. Girl is nothing short of superhuman.

I was expecting to see biker go down the mountain, not up. And go down fast!!! Ridden my “motor” bike up Pikes Peak a lot and probably the only bike I’ll be riding up a mountain anymore.

There’s a certain type of insanity that’s attached to this sort of thing. I only share fragments of it, but it’s certainly there.

It’s a serious problem. I’ve had a few instances of frostbite, as well as frostnip. The damage is permanent, and I have to be incredibly careful when I’m out in the cold. This, of course, is made worse because I LOVE the cold. Crave it. In general, if I can keep moving, and I’m dressed appropriately, it’s not an issue, but… if my hands get cold, or my toes, it can be only moments before they become worthless. Hands especially. The pain feels like someone driving wire brads into my fingertips, and they become completely useless. Something as trivial as straightening out a thrown chain on a bike could be impossible.

Maybe that’s part of the draw, for me. Even a trivial ride on my bike, close to home, when the conditions are rough could have major consequences. Like having toes that need to be removed, or fingers.

…even posting about this makes me want to ride. 🤣🤣🤣

wtf is wrong with me
My first guess would be, "a lot".

But hey, nobody's perfect. 😁

Nice and comfy here. Last night it was 22 outside.
