Ok, smaller bears than those! 😮
We have quite a number of black bears by the cabin. They usually stay out of trouble and keep the grill clean🤣. Had a couple causing trouble towards the end of the summer (chewing on cedar siding). Always cracks me up when I am doing chores outside and find pile of scat on the way back to cabin. Nerve wracking when I can smell the bears, hear teeth pop or huff, but not see them.

Nerve wracking when you can too...like the one in Yosemite that came into my camp, put his paw on my shoulder and huffed in my face as I tried to protect my cousin on her first outing.

Dog breath ain't got nothing on a bear.

I would be strapped with My G40 10mm all the time I was outside. Probably have my .357 Smith 7 shooter as backup. My CPK Ultra Fighter 2 on me. And lastly my EDC 1.2 for if by chance I survive an attack, I’ll be sure to skin that thing!

Our local bears are pretty civilized like Yogi. People are pretty knowledgeable about them and we all give each other the room we need.

I frequently don’t carry out there when by myself. If people are out there with me I carry a .44 mag with hardcast, a 12 gauge with slugs, or a rifle. I have had bear attack victims as patients- not pretty.

We do have pretty big deer. He got all the girls this season.

You don’t need any new friends do you? 😁

Well Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist i got to try the EDC on gutting, skinning and breaking down a deer today. That includes jointing the hocks on the front and back leg which always involves hitting a bit of bone. Didn’t touch it up at all and at the end it’s still shaving sharp!

Kicking myself I didn’t order another, she’s going to get a lot of use.

Today feels a bit colder, must be the humidity rising a bit.

Coffee outside still tastes great, but we sure do need some snow to insulate us, completely dry here.

The storms will miss us today, WeatherBug says maybe Monday will get a bit.

Gosh, the birds and outdoor animals sure need something, can’t keep the water bowls unfrozen for more than 2 hours. They hit it continuously and I don’t mind helping them out.
