Thought you might find this interesting since you were checking out/getting into thermals. I have no idea how effective or durable the unit is, but it's pretty crazy for a $700 price point. I think it'd be sweet on a 22lr, 22 mag, or 17 hmr!

The 22mag and 17hmr is really overkill, although the trajectory cannot be denied.

With the FMJ 22 mag, its penetrating powers are amazing. I have a small bag of nickels and quarters @50 yards that prove this.

With the 17HMR I have no proof of penetration, but plenty of 1 shot kills, it’s devastating to say the least (all ballistic tip).

I’ve never found a FMJ 17HMR, nothing but ballistic tip. However I couldn’t think of a circumstance where you would need the penetration of a FMJ either.

At ground level out to 100 yards, the 22mag and 17HMR are equally capable, each within their own capabilities, perhaps the 22mag taking the lead, just due to its higher grain load.

Knowing their ballistic capabilities (22mag, 17 HMR), I would never shoot at something without knowing that a solid background is present.

Fantastic rounds (22mag, 17HMR) that can hit way above their weight limit 👍
