Random Thought Thread

I got New Balance and never gave a thought about what anyone else thought about them. I had to google new balance memes just to see. My cousin is really into Jordans and ect. always waiting for the new drops with his phone, computer and iPad so he can get three pairs. He wears one, flips one, and keeps one in pristine condition. The amount some of them go up in price blow knife flipping out of the water. He knows I like camo so he alerted me to some camo Nikes so I bought a couple of pairs for around 100$. The other day he sent me a website where multiple people were buying and selling them for 6-700$ in new condition. Who knew. One of my pairs is all stained with deer blood and the other has been worn around in the dust and mud. I guess it’s a good side hustle.

Everything is uncool or out of fashion to someone. I'll never wear skinny jeans, not matter how dated that makes me look.

I'll also never wear New Balance as I think they're ugly. 😁

I used to wear a lot of New balance and some Skechers because I was under the false impression that they were comfortable and good for my back

Mark turned me onto the joys and wonder of boots

I've tried different boots but I'm very partial to just El cheapo 5.11 boots like these:

Yes they are cheesy tacticool boots but, after they break in they're very comfortable and the side zip is good for old fat guys like me because bending over to put on my shoes is similar to trying to fold a bowling ball.

I keep eight pairs. One for every day of the week and a spare.

The traction is fantastic, and I never know when I'm going to need to run off into the woods or go across the creek to grab the dog, kill something, or bury a blem.

I'm not kidding

I spent a weekend at VIR taking a racing class and I had to put on some of my old sneakers cuz you're really not supposed to drive a race car in combat boots.

When the weekend was over and I got back to my truck and I put on my old boots two things struck me. Holy crap this truck is like driving a squishy brick and the clutch is terrible and holy crap these boots are way more comfortable than sneakers.

It takes a little while for boots to break in but cheap boots like this break in pretty fast.

I wear a different pair of shoes every day of the week because it's good for your feet

And my feet never stink.

I use unscented soap, unscented hair gel, unscented deodorant. Jo uses unscented laundry detergent. I'm weird like that, I don't like having any smell at all. It goes back to my hunting days. And I appreciate footwear that is practically completely odorless.

We use unscented antiperspirant, laundry detergent, etc as well. (I use unscented products for shaving.)

When I pass a home using scented laundry detergent I swear it makes me feel like I'm going to have an asthma attack...and when I pass folks in the grocery wearing too much fragrance, I have to move off quickly before I'm tempted to say or do something impolitic.

Having comfortable shoes is a must for me!

Broke my right ankle in my early 30s (it never healed correctly) and have plantar fasciitis in my left foot.... working on concrete all day without well cushioned shoes can become miserable quickly through the work week

I usually wear a wide nike running shoe for work (I usually pick up a couple pairs when they go on sale and are really cheap)
