Random Thought Thread

Randomly.

People forget how to drive in Minnesota (of all places) when it snows.

I drove past a few accidents on the highway this morning and there was less than an inch on the ground.

Couple cars ''accordioned'' couple cars backwards...

People just forget how to do stuff. I think.

IDK I cant remember. What was I talking about again?

Being a pharmacist and standing on my feet for upwards of 10 hrs a day, I’ve found that cowboy boots are the most comfortable.

Been wearing them for 20+ years. I’ll sometimes wear sneakers but you can’t beat a good pair of boots for all day comfort.

Plus you can hide your stash in them. ☺️

(Jeez, back in the early 80's when I was working UC on the mob and 1% MC gangs, I used to have a Nagra stashed in a western boot to record the conversations which were being transmitted with a KEL under the shirt. I think they were probably Justin at the time.

Not something I'd care to do again...after having several years to reflect and ask myself WTF was I thinking...LOL.)

I've tried to go the opposite way from boots when I can. I'm mostly bare foot at home* and my feet have never felt better. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-98070-0. Trying to find affordable "barefoot" style shoes is difficult at best. So I stick with brands that fit in width, in the arch, and that have flexible soles so the foot muscles can do their jobs.

*It helps that I work from home for the last 20 or so years.

I have found Superfeet "Green" to be a wonderful addition to shoes / boots which don't come with good insoles or support. ("Blue" in my gym shoes.)

I have used them for years to good effect. Only a few brands didn't need them on a consistent basis...they are getting harder to find.

We use unscented antiperspirant, laundry detergent, etc as well. (I use unscented products for shaving.)

When I pass a home using scented laundry detergent I swear it makes me feel like I'm going to have an asthma attack...and when I pass folks in the grocery wearing too much fragrance, I have to move off quickly before I'm tempted to say or do something impolitic.
I spritz a little pepper spray on the collar of my shirt and the seat of my pants.

The collar keeps people away which I'm a fan of. Plus, I can now fart and crop dust aisles with a caustic gas.

Life isn't so bad.

^ This is a quality comment
You can also do the opposite. Put a dryer sheet in the seat of your pants/underwear and when you fart it will smell like roses.
Then you can legitimately tell your wife and kids that your crap doesn't stink.

In the grocery store you can take silent satisfaction knowing someone is sniffing your sphincter gas and enjoying it.

It's the little things in life that get me through the day.

It's amazing how popular CPK knives are here on BF.

I scan listings the listings on The Exchange for CPKs & other knives daily and, more often than not, if they're priced "right" (and sometimes even when they're not), CPKs are sold within minutes of the time the listing was 1st posted.

Sales of knives posted by Nathan for CPKs are likewise fully subscribed within minutes.

As a result, I feel privileged to own 4 CPKs, one that I only got -- the EDC -- that I was offered privately & wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

There's only 1 other CPK that I'd like to own -- the Boot Knife -- but that I'll be ever be able to buy one. Just like I'll probably never be able to repurchase a G&G MUDD that I regrettably traded away.

Oh well . . . 🤷‍♂️
