What if I pull my oft used, "show some compassion" card?

I love this gif so much

There's no insect I hate more than ticks. Even mosquitoes are a distant second. I was checking the dog and got one that started crawling on my neck.
Yup. Pulled at least 50 off the dog last weekend over the course of 3 days. All deer ticks. Only one managed to attach herself to him, found it dead the next day on his neck. One did manage to latch onto me but thankfully was on for only ~12 hours. Still left a rather nasty mark.

Yep, I still have a skin tag that grows from a deer tick each month that I pull off, going on 30+ years now.

Took me explaining to the doc the antibiotic I needed to ward off Lyme. He was ignorant of it at the time, as it was uncommon here.

He wanted to wait and see, I said I already had the bullseye rash, I ended up winning.

Certainly didn’t want wait the 6 weeks to test and retest and then start the simple antibiotic, and risk the possibility of complications.

Always got my dogs the anti Lyme virus shot each year. Wish they had them for people.

Ticks suck, Deer Ticks are way worse!

I get to an extent they don't want to overprescribe antibiotics. I called my local urgent care to inquire about precautionary antibiotics for the one I pulled off. She informed me they don't prescribe them unless the tick had been attached for 36 hours.

I always thought 24 hours was the general rule of thumb as far as lyme transfer and I know the one I had wasn't on for more than 12 or so. It hadn't begun to really embed and I check myself regularly while in the woods and for a couple hours after I've exited. Still think I would've felt a little easier getting a round of doxy just in case...lyme isn't one I want to fafo with.
