That pretty cool. I think I’d be afraid I’d break it off or the switch would turn mistakenly. I have a 6in lift but stranger things have happened.
I thought the same thing the first time I seen them, but it’s have to be extremely bad luck to break one off. And they can only be opened by overcoming the spring in the valve. They also have a locking valve cover that goes over the valve just in case. I’ve put them on every truck we’ve had.

I’ll have to try one.

Agreed. Mine is on my 4runner under a metal aftermarket skid plate, but even if that weren't the case, it would take some doing.

I had morimoto fog lights on my last truck and they were fantastic
I put some diode dynamics on the taco a couple years ago and have been really happy with them. Crisp cutoff and a wide throw.

Agreed and agreed! These are great additions to vehicles! Old train of thought was that these would fly open, or an errant rock could turn the valve….once I seen how they were constructed (and the safety to hold the valve) I knew it would take some pretty gnarly circumstances, and still probably an act of God to drop the oil.. still could happen I suppose.

Another added benefit: I have one on a Ford Ranger (Yay, Ford! 👊🏻) that is tucked up behind a skid plate. All you have to do is hook a hose up and put the oil wherever you want. No lift needed, and don’t have to drop the skid. Way cleaner!

Got a new brand/style that I am going to try out on a different vehicle with a plastic oil pan to try to fix that crazy new drain plug they use (plastic pan? Boo, Ford! 👎🏻). So we’ll see how that works…..

I’ve had those.
Switched to the Valvomax design.

Several advantages
- lower clearance. It sticks out less
- stainless steel
- has a screw on steel cap that serves to protect the valve from dirt/mud/salt/snow/whatever, and the cap also serves as a backup (if something happens to the valve somehow, the cap has a gasket and will stop the leak there).
- there’s no lever that might ever get struck by a rock or roadkill or whatever. It has a proprietary drain cap (included with the valve, along with an attached clear drain hose tube).

You unscrew the protective cap, screw the drain cap onto the valve, the drain cap depresses the plunger to open the valve, and start draining ( no tools necessary. Gloves might be good when doing things hot).

DD here also, the SS3 Pros. The fog pattern on them is excellent! Crisp cut-off, and super wide throw, like you mention. Their vehicle-specific mount kits are tits too! Have them on my 4Runner and Sequoia, and my son has them on his Subaru. Went with the backlit SS3 Pro on the Sequoia, so they match the DRLs and turn signals during the day which is nice.

Have their hitchmount light too, which has a nice 4th brake light and a bright backup light. Recommended! (Unfortunately, their annual 20% off sale just happened at the beginning of the month and is over.)

Coming back from our fishing/camping trip ~2 weeks ago was pretty hairy towards the end of the drive at ~11pm. There was some pretty bad weather down here in town, extremely severe thunderstorms, and coming down out of the mountains we went through some fog (the storm clouds that were down in town) that was pea soup thick. Couldn’t see for shit, 20mph was about the fastest you could go. White knuckle driving! People were off the road everywhere because they couldn’t see, one guy went off on a runaway truck ramp. These fog lights saved our asses (I was driving my son’s Subaru, my wife was behind me in the Sequoia), as we could at least see the road still, but other drivers clearly couldn’t. Proper aiming is critical! (Looks like you got yours well-aimed too.)

Tried the fumoto valve. Always seemed to take too long to drain the diesels, which I guess makes sense with Bernoulli's law. Had a couple oil change places balk at doing oil changes because of 'aftermarket modifications'. I don't patronize those businesses anymore but went back to just pulling the drain bolt.

I asked grok a question about ar15's, range bags, and later I asked a question about doordash, and then another question about 3d printed guns after I saw a news article( all in the same chat session). This line stood out:
"While unrelated to firearms, your DoorDash questions reflect a practical mindset about NJ logistics. The covert transport of legal firearms in NJ (e.g., in a Viktos bag) parallels discreet delivery practices, but 3D-printed guns’ illegality eliminates this option."

As dreams are they are very strange

I had one last night where I was selected for a commando team to eliminate some people who stole candy. At one point after shooting a target with my benelli m4, they fell into some river water and turned into a kraken.
I was in the water at this point and while being dragged down by the kraken, I used my Shiv to stabundate the tentacle to free myself.

Thanks CPK!

It's a dream. Why not use a behemoth bowie crafted by a smiling Nathan?
