I'll have a beer on you guys tonight. Stay cool and hydrated, please.

In other news, they have finally started work on the outside of the house. The lower 10 feet will be white Stucco, the upper part black wood, like a Bavarian/Swiss farm house.

Also, our main entry door was finished (goes inside what the wife calls "vestibule" / "mud room").

That door is amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing the stucco/black wood exterior. Exciting stuff.

^ rebuttal!

IMO, Nathan had underpriced the Boot Dagger by ~ $200 - $250 when he had originally offered them. Yes, it is a small (4" BL) dagger but after all, it is a boot dagger, meaning they are all in the same size range. I've literally gone through dozens of higher quality daggers (more in numbers considering run-of-the-mill types) some from very reputable peer type of makers and none came close this is little bug that Nathan produced out of the K18 surplus steel! You may call me a fanboy which is true but I have pretty good tangible experience with comparable patterns by others.

If anyone sells these daggers less than 1K in today's money, they are being benevolent. I am not here to prop the seller although I do consider him a good cyber friend whom I have bought multiple dozens of sheaths from. His dagger price including a ~ $200ish sheath, possibly a bit more, was commensurate with the secondary market.

ETA: if someone offers Nathan, say 5K in today's $, to make the full size 10" dagger, he will politely decline in a nano second!

There's nothing to rebut.

FWIW, I wasn't saying that the knife was "over priced."

I was saying it was just too expensive for me.

My limit for purchasing any knife is $1k & I'm sticking to it. 🤷‍♂️

If your will isn't already made out, I would happy to be the son you always wanted.

It just takes some mental gymnastics. You would have paid $1000 for the dagger and stayed within your limit, then taken the opportunity for a Pirtle sheath in gator for only $300, two great bargains.

Yeah but I was already too late to bid & someone already took the knife w/the sheath. 🤷‍♂️

I also never buy a fixed blade knife w/o a sheath, so, even if I was early enough to make an offer, my offer would have been $1k w/one of the sheaths which would have been rejected as soon as the buyer said he'd take it for $1300 including a sheath.

It's ok. I've got a lot of other daggers & I'm resigned to the fact that I'll probably never be able to buy a CPK boot dagger for what I'm willing to pay because I'm never early enough to see an ad for one anyway. 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Many moons ago I carried a Gerber Mk 1 all over the place. Didn't serve my needs nearly as well as a single edge (+/- dagger point) would have, but that was what I liked (and could afford) at the time. Lost it when it was stolen from a wrecked car that was towed to storage. Chad's CPK boot dagger was pretty hard not to jump on, that's obviously a price the market will bear for a beautiful piece of kit, but that's a shiv 2.0 and an EDC. There's got to be some other project (tactically lightned lawnmower blades?) we can get Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist interested in, that will produce a similar sized off-cut...

Heck it's almost an achievement to just have an opportunity to decide whether or not to buy a CPK boot dagger because of how infrequently they come up for sale and the likelihood of it already being gone by the time you see one!

By the time I saw this post, it was gone, and I had hoped to snag one of the sheaths as a great-looking spare.
