Nice shooting by the way. I miss my 500. It wasn't one I shot alot but it sure was a range stopper. One day shooting at my local indoor range there was a couple guys in there that yelled at everyone for shooting without giving a notice. They would shoot then take off hearing protection then yell at the next one that shot which happened to be a young lady that was shooting next to me and she was nervous enough without retards yelling at her. I had to be me. I grabbed the 500 out of the bag and waited until they removed protection and let her ring. Needless to say they didn't do that anymore. Yes I did give her a warning what I was going to do. Good times.

I wonder if these morons take their seat belts off each time they stop at an intersection too... What a great way to ruin everyone else's time at the range.

I took my girlfriend (now wife) to an indoor range once to shoot on a cold day. She was nervous, but everything was fine until someone started blasting away with a .12 gauge shotgun at a silhouette target, from 10 yards away. It looked to me like the culprit was a father, obviously inexperienced with firearms, who had finally gotten grandpa's old 870 and decided to take his two sons to try it out (the boys were noticeably nervous as well). A perfectly admirable endeavor, but not the right place for it.

The range doesn't have an eyes & ears at all times rule? Insane. You get kicked off the range here if you try that nonsense.
They did but there was no one monitoring inside the range. I witnessed several incidents there like lots of flagging everyone. Saw one guy step back with pistol in hand talking to someone then he actually looked down the barrel then walked back up to the line and shot. Needless to say I scooped my crap up and went out. It use to be a range I went to alot and knew all the guys behind the counter so I said something and one guy went back to talk to them. Management changed and I didn't renew my membership. There was at least one suicide there after a guy had killed his girlfriend. When I would go I wanted the end lane and always had a loaded pistol in reach. Usually on my hip as I do most shooting drawing and reloads. I'm not usually just blasting. Sometimes but not the norm. My wife prefers to shoot at outdoor ranges as the noise bothers her. It is more relaxing as I don't have to constantly watch everyone around me. The range I go to has individual pistol bays separated by berms.

I'm guilty of taking my electronic muffs off when I'm not shooting for a few minutes when it's hot out. But I also wear ear plugs at all times since I double up.

My friend Matt Martin (RJ Martin’s son) just finished making one of his stupendous fountain pens, and has asked me to photograph it. There is absolutely no way I can do this thing justice. I can’t even begin to tell you how gorgeous this is, how good it feels in hand. I couldn’t even use the damn thing, and if I could afford it, I’d own it. Aside from the nib, it’s sole authorship. Machined on his lathe, hand engraved, and hand anodized. Five lead thread on the cap, so it starts almost anywhere, o-ring seal so it glides to a smooth stop. Really wonderful work.

Hopefully, I’ll manage some photos of it.

Things like that are tricky to photograph.

That's freaking awesome!!!!!

I went straight to the range after work on Friday with the new 500 mag. They weren't having any of me shooting it there and even asked to hold my ammo while I shot a little 10mm.

I found an outdoor range 30 miles away that allows it, and made it there this afternoon. They gave me a lane set at 10 yards. I shot a couple groups at 1" stickers with the 10mm, which is zeroed at 20 yards and hitting a bit low at 10. I tried to hold high on the second group. I was more focused on testing the 500.

Then time for the 500 mag. Turns out it won't make a practical pocket pistol for strolls with the dog. I also quickly remembered that I haven't shot anything bigger than 10mm in quite a few years. The kick slammed me, literally making me let out an Oof. I put two cylinders through it, but it's pretty nuts. I was not tempted to break their "no rapid fire" rule. I only shot double action as I was too nervous to handle it with the hammer back. I felt like I threw a few of the shots, the hole furthest to the right had two bullets through it. I don't feel like I got enough info to go adjusting the sight anywhere.

Anyone at the shindig who wants to develop a flinch is welcome to shoot it.

This makes me smile

Changed the oil two weekend ago, time for fuel filters again now. I normally change them every 15k, these have about 23k on them. I think I’m fully confident in running them out to 30k now like Ford says in the manual. They don’t look that dirty to me. View attachment 2943448View attachment 2943449View attachment 2943450
Nice. My Duramax has been throwing a fuel rail sensor code for the last couple of weeks and even put me in limp mode a couple of times. Then I put this in there and it will go away and check engine light goes out as long as it is in my tank. Maybe the sensor and hopefully not injectors. I couldn’t find the Archoil locally. A few preliminary photos. I really mean it, these don’t do it justice - it’s much more beautiful in hand.

Baller!💯 It's fairly rare to see an all-Ti fountain pen, I only have one myself. All too often it's just shitty plastic/resin, for hundreds $$$.

Looks like he does excellent work! I'm afraid to look it up haha...
