Took my son to a school clay target team info meeting tonight. Thrilled that our district allows this team to be affiliated with the school. Not sure how much we will be involved due to baseball but I’m excited he has the opportunity to participate, and learn skeet and trap.

Do you think the bears don’t go after the goats because they are in with horses? I had a bear get my goats as soon as my Anatolian Shepherd retired. They were big Boer Goats. There were two donkeys living right there but not in the same fence.

We haven't had the bears go after much of anything... yet. Not even garbage (not leaving stuff out probably helps that). The little black bears we have around here aren't usually very aggressive. Wouldn't surprise me if they took down a foal or elk calf every now and then if the opportunity arose, but haven't seen any evidence of it. Lions, on the other hand, would definitely go after something the size of the goats. I think one of our horses injured a lion pretty good a number of years ago (before the goats showed up); maybe word got around. The goats stick pretty close to the horses.

The bears *have* inspired my wife to switch from a 9mm to a 10mm for a walking around gun. Although I suspect getting a few 9mm on target would be fairly effective with these bears.
