This shop is $145/hr. IF you bring your own parts, it's $185/hr. That might be beneficial here, it would only be $300 more, but we could save over a grand on the parts! 🤨

He's going to call some local tranny places, and for more stress, some Subie specailty places...

Since the average car monthly payment is around $500-600 these days, you have to figure out how many monthly payments the repair is worth. I did that for a couple years before the truck just decided it had had enough.
💯 Yeah, luckily both my 4Runner and this Subie are generally pretty reliable, and large repairs like this aren't necessary often.

ETA - Unlike Fords... ;)
