Friction folder? Bloody large BL for a folder, no?
Edited to add:
When you had said a FFK I didn't literally take it as a Folding Field Knife! I had thought like a field(ish) knife that also folds![]()
Friction folder? Are you high right now?
Daaaaamn! That is some stroke for a mill that size. On that plunge with that long d1ck bit, I’d be a**hole clenched & teeth grinding the whole time the spindle is turning. I don’t even want to imagine threading in to that abyss!A little over 20", which always seemed excessive on a little 16X30 mill. Never needed it before today, but was glad to have it. The drill itself was sketchy AF too but it worked out okay. Threading the hole got a little weird.

When they start singing like that I can’t help but stare intensely at it, like it’s one of my kids on the verge of doing some dumb sh*tthe thread wasn't very deep, it's a pipe thread, but I thread milled it rather than tap it, for obvious reasons, and the side loads from milling the thread had that work piece howling. I did it in two passes but I was still a little nervous given the sounds coming off of it. that's a pretty stout workpiece I was not expecting it to complain, but then again I can't tell you the last time I've machined the end of a piece sticking that far out of a vise.

that's how it is when you go making one of them hollow handle Rambo knifesthe thread wasn't very deep, it's a pipe thread, but I thread milled it rather than tap it, for obvious reasons, and the side loads from milling the thread had that work piece howling. I’ll second that on the folder, and if I can add, not to big and heavy.Remember, some of us live in Cali - and it's delivered to your door
Just want to add a thought about the folder - DON'T MAKE NO UGLY ASS FOLDER. GOTTA BE SWEEET.
I’m intrigued. My first production folder will be simple, big, heavy and ugly. Sorry. I'll do something sweet on future work but to start I'm keeping it simple and making something I know will work reliability. Please remember that, as much as I appreciate our collectors, we make product aimed at users. My target audience is my neighbor, he works in maintenance and has a landscaping business on the side and he tears up and wears out knives and would probably wreck many of the fancy folders I see posted here. This first folder is for folks like him. He doesn't care what it looks like, but he needs it to work and tolerate some abuse without worrying about messing it up.

I've had them. Just got drawn for one about two weeks ago, I passed. You can live without one, they are nothing special.funny how life works.
I have been on the waiting list for a Girmsmo Norseman for quite some time.
Had some money set aside.
Have purchased 4 CPK's in the last 4 weeks, so knife funds are low.
Get drawn for a Gimsmo Norseman with 24 hours to pay. hahaha.
And its my favorite color green.
I just love lifes little kick in the balls from time to time.
At least I have newly found CPK to comfort me.![]()
