And the knuckle dragging, mouth breathing, uncle kissing, butt pirate who disconnected it used a sawzall and dropped a ton of copper fines down into the windings.

I have attempted to vacuum them out

I'm considering now using compressed air to blow them out although that might just blow them in deeper and create a bigger problem.

Maybe I'm overthinking this. It's not like the windings don't have insulation on them.

Glad his hand is fine. Honestly, that strikes me as weird, though. I wonder if the frame already had some sort of weakness or a crack. I've shot the 10mm Underwood loads a fair bit, including out of a M&P, and while they are definitely full power, it's hard to imagine them blowing up a gun.

Glad he is okay. FWIW that load is popular and lots of people shoot it through Glocks with no issues. Some put stronger springs or aftermarket barrels too.

I hope he sends it in to have them examine it.

I have blown up 2 handguns- both S&W revolvers and both with handloads from my brother. Since the last one I only shoot factory loads.

I guess my point was that it’s not a kaboomed Glock, but a kaboomed aftermarket barrel. Maybe out of spec in some way?

Yeah, seems like a reasonable presumption.

The G20s have had a history of exploding but I thought it was due to an original barrel. KKM solved some of that but the tolerance is less? Seems like a tighter tolerance would be an issue.
 

tldr: former underwood employee claims that underwood has been reverse engineering and ripping off certain buffalo bore ammo types for a long time.
