My 870 with Surefire forend, Magpul reduced LOP stock and loaded with Flite Control rounds is locked up...so I'll have to politely ask the intruder to sit with the dog while I run and get it.

Or my G17 will just have to satisfy his needs while I convince him (or her) not to interrupt our sleep.

Oddly coincidental, for the first time ever, in the middle of the night, we woke up to Kobe standing in the living room and barking. (No guttural growls.)

Whether an animal or human was on the porch or deck, it was a dream or a ghost has not been revealed.

I used to keep a Marine magnum 870 behind the headboard, but if I ever had to use it for its intended purposes, I would probably lose it as evidence. I love that shotgun. So my 870 now sits in the safe, and this Maverick pulls headboard duty.

This is my Mossberg Maverick that serves strictly as a bump in the night long gun. It has a Surefire light on it, Esstac cards, Hogue reduced LOP stock, and is a formidable weapon when loaded with buckshot and slugs!

The adhesive from the tape will all disappear with some alcohol and cotton balls.
The maverick 88 is a super value. Great shotgun! For $250 I couldn’t resist getting a couple. One for my truck one in the garage.

One month of healing down. I got to see the neurosurgeon today for my one month check up. They were really pleased with my healing progress. Everything seems to be going as well as it could be. I have been cleared to start being more active. I don’t even have to have any more appointments until a six month check and MRI. I finally got to see the original images. It was pretty crazy. There was so much going on in there, and still is. I’m grateful that it has turned out as well as it has. They estimate that the skull and especially the bones that make up my eye socket will take a year to heal. But, it feels much better already. Today ⬇️

If you missed the original post, I was hit by a falling limb while felling trees in the woods. 1 month ago ⬇️

Sorry if that’s to graphic for you. I looked for the way to hide/spoiler it for a minute but didn’t see it. So I just went for it. At least there aren’t any feet in the picture.

Awesome that you are doing so well! I am sure your wife and dogs are thrilled with your progress. I know it must be hard to not jump back in to heavy chores, but please take it slow and heed medical advice regarding such.
You are a very lucky man and survived for a reason.

Thanks for the kind words and advice. I will take it. My wife has definitely been amazing by working her full case load, taking care of me and taking up my slack. I look forward to pulling my weight again, but all in good time. I am certainly lucky for many reasons.

Glad to hear the progress.

I have a bunch of the Velcro shell holders from countycomm
I was just getting sad thinking about putting a Velcro strip on my gun
I’m of the same mind as @Fonedork not wanting to put velcro on my Benelli. But
It does make sense. And seeing 91bravo 91bravo with it makes sense.
*sigh*

If you refer to it as "hook and loop" it sounds more tactical.

...but come to think of it, that's actually sadderer. 😂

My 590 got the fuzzy treatment.
