One month of healing down. I got to see the neurosurgeon today for my one month check up. They were really pleased with my healing progress. Everything seems to be going as well as it could be. I have been cleared to start being more active. I don’t even have to have any more appointments until a six month check and MRI. I finally got to see the original images. It was pretty crazy. There was so much going on in there, and still is. I’m grateful that it has turned out as well as it has. They estimate that the skull and especially the bones that make up my eye socket will take a year to heal. But, it feels much better already. Today ⬇️

If you missed the original post, I was hit by a falling limb while felling trees in the woods. 1 month ago ⬇️

Sorry if that’s to graphic for you. I looked for the way to hide/spoiler it for a minute but didn’t see it. So I just went for it. At least there aren’t any feet in the picture.
Looking good man!

Nonsense

The elected are clearly concerned about the opinions of the electorate or they wouldn't put so much effort into their image.

It's a popularity contest and our vote is how that popularity is measured. It's one of the only mechanisms that citizens have to at least affect the choices being made. It's not perfect, obviously, but to suggest that elections don't have consequences is ridiculous.

We don't live in a democracy, fortunately. Things are not perfect but things could be far worse, and would be if we had law by mob rule.

If we didn't have meaningful elections we would probably enjoy a similar amount of Liberty as the people in China.

While this is all true, what sucks about the ‘popularity contest’ is that the winner is the one who spouts the most crap that people want to hear (even if they have a history of not following through on their promises). How do so many people on both sides of our 2-party system not see how outlandishly ridiculous some of those campaign promises are?

It’s like watching two competing used car salesmen, trying to convince a sucker that THEY can give them the better deal 😅😝

So what are you doing to change it?
Absolutely I'm bashing the squeaky horn. AS HARD AS I CAN

I mean it's not like there's massive amounts of money involved.... not one politician ever has had interests outside of serving their electorate.

I do think that elections are legit up to a certain level. I just don't see how you can become a member of the ''legitimate candidate'' club without having access to massive amounts of ''donations to your campaign''

It's just how it seems to be.

If Hulk Hogan didn't have to convince people that he was Awesomer than Ric Flair it would take all the excitement out of pro wrestling. You know?
