Random Thought Thread

It actually says "bayom (in the day) achalecha (that you eat) memenu (of it) mot (dying) tamut (you will die). It does not say you will die some time after eating it, it says you will die in the day you eat it.

What exactly indicates Eve knew it was right to obey God? How would she know what is right before she had knowledge of right and wrong?
It would be a huge deal if the God who knows all things eternally had meant it the way you assert knowing that Christ would have to come and things would play out the way they will.

She knew what God said. She knew He was the authority. She knew she was supposed to do what He said and not to do what He said not to do.

According to the text, God lied to Eve, regardless of what that means for the rest of the story. Again, what part of the text indicates Eve knew it was good to obey God or evil to disobey God? The only thing the text indicates is that Eve did not yet have knowledge of good and evil.

Nothing indicates they were immortal. The text lists the consequences of eating from the tree of knowledge but nowhere does it list loss of immortality. Also, the existence of the tree of life and the tree of knowledge imply that Adam and Eve lacked both immortality and moral knowledge.

So back to random thoughts.......

Since dogs have a way stronger sense of smell, maybe poop actually smells really really good.

Also, since smell affects taste, maybe poop tastes really good to them too.

Maybe when they think of their owner, they just think of your layers and layers of smell, not anything to do with what you look like

You know, I’ve heard somewhere — or there’s this opinion — that as people get older, they start to perceive flavors better.
That would explain, for example, why certain foods start tasting good to people only with age.

Take me, for instance: my whole life I ate sushi rolls completely plain, no soy sauce, no wasabi, nothing — just dry.
A few days ago I tried them with everything you can possibly add… and oh my god, I’ve been eating rolls wrong my entire life.

Same thing with olives, by the way.

Also, lately I’ve actually started to enjoy the taste of truffle — like when you grate just a little bit into certain dishes.

The only thing I’ll probably never understand is sweet alcohol and dessert beers.
The only sweet booze I can tolerate is Jägermeister.
Though to me, honestly, it tastes kind of like toothpaste 😁

You say He did but that’s not true.. You are presenting a false assertion as fact.

They must think of venison fillet when they eat dear poop. Now it all makes sense. :)

If he knows all things, he knew they would eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil after he told them they would die if they ate it. So why would he say that unless he wanted them to eat it?
I don’t understand the question. He told them they would die. The fact he told them that and along with telling them not to indicates He did not in fact want them to. That would seem to be a pretty powerful motivation to not eat of it. The better question would be why would He plant the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the first place.

I won’t pretend to know everything but ultimately the question you’re asking is why did God create the world and humanity if it was going to fall and there would be all this suffering and death. That’s a valid question and people have been asking it for millennia. All I know is God is perfect. His ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts our thoughts. It will all work out the way it is supposed to. He has a plan for redemption and it has been and will be accomplished.

We're talking about religion

Which is up there with politics I think and also money

So, in order to continue there needs to also be a dick measurement (inches) and pissing contest (feet and inches), in addition to your last year's W2.
I’m like a starving field mouse…can I continue? 😂🤣
