Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist ???

Hopefully you scored the machine you wanted there to manufacture folders lol

That power unit I installed doesn't working right and I desperately need it so I found someone in Florida who had something that will work and we're down here picking it up in the morning.

Me and Jo. It's a cassic.

I've been to Florida a bunch of times

Every time is worse than the time before it

I drove through the worst blizzard conditions I’ve seen in decades last night, returning from a trip to Algonquin Provincial Park. Several observations:
- it was clear weather, for the most part, entirely through Canada
-it was warmer in Canada than it was in New York
-winds were likely over 50mph for a lot of it, with snowfall rates of 2”/hr
-in many places, I was driving through 8” or so of windswept snow, with very little visibility
-in some instances, I was forced to stop because I couldn’t see ANYTHING except white. Meaning, I couldn’t see the hood of my car two 2” from the windshield.
- I was forced to rely on GPS just to make sure I was pointed in the same direction as the road
-there were a LOT of cars in ditches
-all of this is still preferable to me than doing anything in Florida

This is one of those posts I wish I could like more than once! 🤣

Matthew, next time you are in the Algonquin Park area, shoot me a DM. I’m super close. I have a lot of family history at APP.

First time I ever experienced whiteout conditions, was driving through a blizzard in OH, late at night. It wasn’t just the heavy snowfall, but the blowing snow that dropped visibility to zero.

Just as you experienced, I couldn’t see the hood, much less the road.

It was a really weird experience actually feeling my eyes keep trying to find something to focus on. I had to look at the dashboard to stop that weird sensation and give my eyes something to focus on. There were literally no other vehicles on the highway. Just my dumbass.

Did I pull over and stop? Nope. Decided I’d just slow to a crawl, and keep going. “Ooo… rumble strips on the right! Left a bit”.

“Whoops. I think my left wheels are going off the road! Right a bit…” 😂

Fortunately, that part didn’t last too long. Felt like I was doing that for 5-10 minutes, but it was probably shorter than that.

Lotta accidents this morning. “Eh, the roads aren’t THAT bad. Look at all these idiots in the median and ditches…” (tried to pass a semi) “Whoa… OK, I guess the roads ARE kinda icy…” 😅
