I don’t even think it’s really a clone.
It’s more like this form is basically a meta.
It’s just the most efficient possible shape/geometry.
So the person who made it probably just thought:
‘Why not do it the same way?’ 😅
Basically like sports cars or Formula 1 cars — they all look almost identical because everyone’s already settled on the most optimal meta specs.

It’s not just the general blade shape; when you have multiple CPK knives and choppers, including older models, you can see and feel the iterative refinements of the handle, as Nate’s made small mods to improve performance.

I’ve mentioned it before, but I had several Busse knives. The handles with various models felt wildly different. With CPKs, you can tell that they’re in the same family of knives.

All that to say, “Yeah, that’s a copy/clone”.
 
No guys, I just wanted to say — when there’s some feature that’s objectively the best one, not just “I personally like it this way”,
but genuinely the best thing available right now in a given context,
everybody will start copying it / doing the same.

And that only adds points to the original.

Like, someone was the first to come up with that feature, and now everyone uses it.
But in the end, everybody still knows who actually invented it / came up with it first.
 
It’s like, the Medium chopper basically has this specific combination of ergonomic and geometric characteristics, such that if you want to make a blade that performs well in this exact context, you’re pretty much forced to repeat a lot of the same features anyway.

In theory, it’s not really cloning, it’s something else — I’m just too dumb to phrase it properly.

PS; that’s a clone of the Behemoth Chopper, not the Medium. The BC has the longer 12” blade.

As for Large Camp Knives, there have been lots of examples, like the Junglas, RTAK2, Trailmaster and numerous Busse models. None of them look identical to CPK choppers.

Did a quick google-fu on them and they also have clones of CRK, ESEE, White River, RMJ and Tops to name a few.
They even have a Spyderco Shaman with a square thumb hole 😂.
F’n clowns.
