Did you get the high score?

No. Explanation: I changed my habits recently.

six or seven years ago, rated blitz, back to back, no time between games. Just play play play, tilted or not. Very little improvement, but some pattern recognition developing.

couple lessons with a coach who suggested 30 minute games, but I settled for 10 minute, since the wait time to when the game ended if opponent abandoned was less (don't want to sit starting at a screen for 15 minutes only to find the opponent walked away and I win by default... with rapid it is more like three or four minutes potential time wasted).

But it was still always rated, and still played through tilt, resulting in several trips back to the basement (which for me, is sub 1000).

But yesterday, after coming across some advice on chess.com, I decided to start periodically playing days of strictly unrated games, and I changed my pairing settings to that I would be paired with opponents no less than 25 points below my rating, but as high as the sky, so I could get risk free practice against strong opponents, and experience new strategic ideas, even if I am the one decimated by them.

So the game above was unrated, and I gained no rating points from it. He had +2 (material score) because after he created a queen and light square bishop battery eyeing down my kingside, I made the choice to sacrifice a knight so I could blunt his access. Analysis shows that it was a blunder. But his followup didn't capitalize, and he ended up blundering mate in two, which caused his resignation.

To my great surprise, it looks like my opening and middle game until my blunder was actually quite solid, as you can see from the eval bar in the bottom right of the bottom image.

But by rating alone, this is the strongest opponent I have ever won against.

Hey congrats man. I'd say playing unrated especially when on tilt is the best way to get better because you don't care as much

Seems like a good idea for driveways and sidewalks. But, like everything, application is key and it will not work everywhere. There is no panacea.
Wait, I can fix it: What if... instead of putting it on a surface that will get damaged... we put it on a scaffold ABOVE the road.

Wait, another revelation: what IF... instead of building new scaffolding to hold the panel... we put it on an already-existing structure that gets lots of sunlight. We could call it a Reused Optical Overhead Foundation (R.O.O.F.). I think this could change everything.

Funny! But, I think they are trying find additional surfaces to cover with solar panels. Walkways, paths, and roads will obviously need more durable panels. There are many parking lots covered with solar panel scaffolds down here. They also keep your car cooler by shading it.

Somethings been off today and I finally figured it out

You stole my spirit animal earlier I know it.

Glad to hear that’s actually happening. I’d wondered about that specific implementation for quite some time.

The shaded parking is nice. I saw those at a lot of colleges in California. There is plenty of parking lots that could be covered.
