Random Thought Thread

I think I'm going to land on a 14.5" total blade length, 21" total length, around 2.2 lb, .250" blade thickness. I don't want to deviate too far from the tried and true Behemoth Chopper, but I do want something that can two hit a 2x4
At what thickness does the additional weight start to actually work against how well the blade slices through material?

Guess you could call me a thickness-noticer

Just noticing that blade thickness on choppers can range quite a bit, and was curious why (.188 - 225 on LC/MC, .250 on behem, and then .312 on the CPK/Keffeler comp chopper) Then I have seen other ones at close to .75in. Didn't know if it was something very closely tied into durability/function, or if after a certain point (say .180) it isn't a huge factor in performance.

At the end of the day I have a blast chopping stuff up with my dad and little brother regardless of any of those details 😄 I'm just finding ways to procrastinate paying my taxes
