For real?!
🤩🤩🤩🤩

Yeah, in about 2 weeks I'm interviewing another, younger, design engineer* with the hope of getting another Nate in here so we can get more parallel processes going. Specifically the folder.

Jo has a rule here. "You're not buying more steel until you use the steel you already have"

The steel for the folder project is here. Has been for a while. It is my hope to have folders in hand by the end of the year.

But that was my hope last year too...

Right now, the machine that I would use to make the frames would be our GV503 which is a pallet changer vertical Mori. We are done with the light and standard choppers on it now. I'm preparing it for Behemoth Choppers next week. Once those come off, it will start milling the kukri. The other pallet is CNC sharpening field knives.

I picked up a small mori DMG mini Mill at auction a while back. I'd like to move sharpening on to it. We haven't hooked it up yet because it's 480 volt wye 3 phase (this is four wire with neutral) and we have 240 Delta 3 phase here. I have the transformers in place, I just need a couple days where I can turn everything off and perform some substantial wiring. I have included an enormous double conversion UPS to this equation to help smooth out brownouts when the air compressor kicks on etc.

We crossed a threshold here last year and everything got really complicated 😞

Awesome, I’d love an EDC folder.
And something like a 14-inch EDC Behemoth.
Though I think the Behemoth would also be really cool if it was a folding version. 🤔

But seriously, this is very cool.
I mean,awesome.
