After recent events, I now have 2fa on bladeforums. And a bunch of other places.

I had 2FA on BF for years...until one day I couldn't log on with one of my Chromebooks...so I got on with another device and shut it off.

But now I've begun using a passkey which works just fine.

Weirdly GunBroker, where the stakes are a lot higher, only seems to have primitive 'email me a code' 2fa.

Some places will have it available if you go to "Settings" - "Security" or similar...and give you various options. But not all. I like the passkeys since I started using them.

I had 2FA on BF for years...until one day I couldn't log on with one of my Chromebooks...so I got on with another device and shut it off.

But now I've begun using a passkey which works just fine.

I have 2fa but on the day of the month that I get the code, it locks me out every time I close the page with the forum on it and sends a new code when I open it again. I don’t log out. I just close the window. So for one day a month I have to get a new code whenever I open or close a window with BF on it. Not a big deal just a glitch I guess.

I was leery of the whole passkey thing, but it's literally the simplest option. (I use them with my password manager, not with my browser...this way I can use the same passkey on multiple devices.)

If you have the opportunity to try them, I recommend it. And you don't have to get rid of your old user name or password to do so.
