Random Thought Thread

I just really don't think that all the problems are because tired people don't want to mow their own lawn themselves.

people just want to spend time with family.
Rest.Drink some beer with family.
Fall asleep on the couch in the middle of the day.

All of that is way better than mowing the lawn. 😅
My wife arranged for a lawn service to free up some of my time, but I actually enjoy doing yard work so we cancelled it. Now if I could get some help at the remote property….there is never enough time.

I either need to buy a riding mower or hire someone to take care of my yard. I just can’t find the time so far this year. Moving up to Farm in baseball, we’ve got something going on almost every day of the week now. Jamboree today. I’m to pooped now, I just want to relax the rest of today. 😔
We had the same issue when we moved to travel ball. Now I’ve had a lawn guy for the past 5 years. I love having him in the fall; saves me weeks of bagging leaves. One day I’ll start doing it again..

Robot mower(s)
Not sure if folks thought this was a joke, but seriously, they have robot mowers now.

Like Roombas for your lawn.

In a different forum, someone mentioned using 3 of them to mow 3-4 acres. All automated. Just like a Roomba, they go out, do their thing, then return to their charging station(s).

If I had to mow 3-4 acres, I’d seriously consider it. Unlike some folks who enjoy mowing, it’s just a chore that takes up my time, to me, and I wouldn’t really want to spend 2-4 hours a week on it.

I'm seriously thinking about one. If I can never think of a better thing to do with my time than mow the friggin' lawn, please shoot me.

CVG airport next to me has a few remote controlled mowers for the steep hills. Very expensive and not the best but it does help with potential injuries.

I spend a lot of time in this thread.

You should try checking out of here once in a while, set the knives and all that sharpening equipment down because none of it is productive, go touch that grass and mow it! If you hate mowing so much I bet there’s a laundry list of things you could do otherwise to improve the condition of your current domicile.

It's not that I'm bragging, but this is my garden.

Inside the yard, I have beautiful trees, and outside, there are three large gardens around the perimeter.

Yes, I don't do it myself, but I absolutely love plants, flowers, and trees.

I also pay these guys to do the same for my parents and my grandparents.

I love them, and I don't want them to waste their energy on this.

I just think that if I got a little bit lucky in life, then I can spare both myself and all my loved ones from these kinds of chores.

I value any kind of work.

And I believe that every person, whether a little better or a little worse at something, is good at certain things.

For example, I hate mowing the lawn, and once when I changed an electrical outlet, I ended up burning out the washing machine.

After that, I decided that if I pay someone for that kind of help, my ego won't suffer.

Moorik Moorik looks lovely out there! I can’t do it all either around the house, I have acquired way too much lawn to mow and everything like the garden I’d like to have and other landscaping has suffered.

I’ve only met a couple people who can do it all, namely my father in law. I have no idea how he knows how to do so much and I also have no clue how he manages to do it all! When he’s done with me for the day helping me with a house renovation, doing his own projects, he’s also helping at Church, neighbors houses, other family members, it’s insane that this man works non-stop. He has 34 hours a day to everyone else’s 24, it’s wild.
