Random Thought Thread

If I was still commuting daily, I'd have purchased an electric. I'd come out ahead for sure. But, I work from home and have for decades. I needed a vehicle that could get me away from a hurricane when the power was out and I needed to get several hundred miles north. So ICE it was and is. So far, thankfully, no hurricane has been strong enough in our area for us to evacuate.

I really thought I'd be driving an electric by the 21 century. 🤷‍♂️
 
It's a shame that Ford's don't leak oil from the factory. The "continuous protective undercoat feature" doesn't really start in ernest until the rust has already established itself and then it's too late.

This is one reason I do my own oil changes. Because I can't be bothered with a funnel so I get started on my undercoating early

*this is a true story...... the amount of oil that leaks is also a form of do it yourself lo jack..... you can always find it by the oil trail*
 
My Mitsubishi Outlander with the 4B12 engine is already entering its 14th year.

But I live in a fairly warm climate, and last year I visited several car dealerships, looked at new Audis, Lexuses, Toyotas, and a few other brands.

Honestly, I just didn’t feel like buying any of them.

They look newer and better than my car, but the only new features are all that multimedia stuff and other such nonsense.

I simply didn’t want to buy a new one.

The car has 62,000 miles on it.

My wife and I drive every day, but only short distances.

I bought it from the previous owner with 25,000 mileson the clock.

And honestly, I have something like a protest against what cars are like these days.

For now, I’ve decided to hold off on buying a new car.

I just couldn’t convince myself to get a new one.

Like, in my head I kind of want a new car, but as soon as I start looking at them in person, I literally don’t want any of them.
 
All the shops in town know me. (I've put a lot of their kids through college and made many a boat payment). They see me coming and pull out the kiddy litter.

My buddy Chris meets me in the driveway and slides a catch pan under the truck

My dad makes me park in the road

Oh, I worked something like 14 hours today.

Just opened a Coca-Cola Zero, following your advice (you know, not drinking sugary stuff).

And now I think I’m gonna fall asleep right on the chair.

I seriously love hard working days.

I just stopped drinking anything with sugar...!And now you're telling me there's caffeine in it...!

I don't want to drink alcohol.

Ever since I came home in someone else's shoes — that was at the beginning of April — I haven't had a single drink.

I'm being mindful now. 🤠
