A while back, there was a missing dog alert (missing a week) at a store on the way to my remote property. As I was riding in on the trail, the weather was rainy and in the low 30’s and the only tracks I saw were wolf. My land neighbor stopped to chat and told me he glimpsed a small dog fitting the description. I called the contact to tell her, and she was hysterical with joy that it might be her dog. Not even 2 hrs later the dog showed up at another property and the guys ‘guard dog Akita’ got it to that landowner, who had been notified to keep an eye out. Happy reunion took place, and the dog only needed a couple of days at the vet. A very small house dog survived a week in the wilds with wolves active and got found. Very cool!
They had been at a friend’s cabin when fireworks went off snd the dog freaked out and ran.

This year people on my mountain kept reporting seeing a Belgian Malinois and a small black yappy dog running with it. One neighbor said that he put some food out and the malinois ate it but wouldn’t let him get close and the little black one kept his distance. All of this went on for a month or two of various sightings. They said the dog wasn’t too skinny or anything. Eventually the neighbor called me and said he had a picture of the couple on his back porch where he had been leaving food and the little black one was not a dog but a piglet. I had no idea where they came from but it was a pretty crazy duo for that little piglet to be keeping up with a malinois running around through the mountains.

One of my neighbors pigs got loose once and started rooting around my AC unit. It ate the foam insulation off the refrigerant line and busted the condensation drain pipe off. If I didn’t have the fat thing on video I wouldn’t have believed it.
