Random Thought Thread

I guess I’m an idiot.

Yeah but all polls show blue winning. Also, if you happen to be the decisive vote and voted red, you're essentially killing half the population.

Is there some kind of an upside to Blue?

Like, if half the population selects blue, and blue wins, does something good happen?

Because, if the outcome is the same regardless of red or blue, why wouldn't EVERYBODY just select red? What would be the harm in everybody just selecting red?

Maybe I don't understand this thought experiment

If all else is equal, you could either have a real risk of peril by selecting blue and hope a whole bunch of other people also take an unnecessary risk and also select blue, for no reason. Or everybody just selects red.

Maybe I don't understand this thought experiment.

I'm selecting red. Everybody can be responsible for their own safety. I don't understand taking a risk of death to select blue if it doesn't accomplish something, other than saving other people who also selected blue. For no reason.

Somebody explain this to me, it seems really dumb.

Now, if selecting blue, and blue wins, it solves a problem. Then there is some reward for the risk and it makes sense. I could understand people getting behind that.

But, otherwise, why would anybody select blue. If everybody just selects red, there's no risk. Whike it's also true that if everybody selects blue there's no risk, there is an uncontrolled variable there that doesn't exist with red.

Somebody explain this to me. I have a personality disorder and I can't understand people
