scales_051319-jpg.1211850

DEK1 is in what is called preproduction phase. A few were sold at the last Friday's sale but will probably take a couple of more weeks to be shipped out. The scales were different than the above and IIRC only offered in natural or black micarta (buffed & unbuffed) plus OD green. Will probably be a while before they get a full range of scales offered in different materials and colors.

Awesome, thanks for the info

I 'grew up' on a farm, where we raised goats. They have a lot of character and are hilarious to watch. They're always horny, but the hornier they get the smellier they get. You have to separate the males from the females if you're milking them, as the milk gets extra gross. Pretty gross to begin with, imo, but I love feta. Goat curry is a miracle of mankind's culinary journey

Darn you guys and all your goat curry talk.

When I was in Asia, I tried a dish in Malaysia called Sup Kambing (IIRC, sup = soup. Kambing = mutton). All of a sudden, I can remember the pungent aroma and flavor and now I have a craving for it, and I haven't even thought about the stuff in a couple of decades.

Off to google Sup Kambing recipes.

See. When you say "curry goat" instead of "goat curry" you're talking about Jamaican curry goat. And you are allowed to say Wah Gwaan! Bumbaclot! and Everting irie.
Now look in the mirror, tell me what you see. A badass muddah, who don't take no crap off nobody!

When I lived in Downey CA. I wandered into a middle eastern market in a strip mall. They had a little grill in the back where they prepared fresh food. Flat bread wraps and such. I asked if any of them were beef (which may have been ignorantly offensive on my part - I don’t know what ethnicity or creed the owners were). She just looked at me a moment, and then said no but I would probably like the shawarma. I asked what kind of meat it was. She only knew the word in her first language. I’ve had many Greek shawarma so figured it might/probably be lamb. I don’t think it was, but it was similar. In any case it was fantastic - the spices, and toppings were incredible. There was no sauce like a typical Greek wrap. There was a pepper relish that gave it a nice kick.
I ate there at least once a week for a year and a half.

When I lived in Europe, the middle eastern version known as Shawarma was really an Arabic version of the original Turkish Döner Kebab which literally means rotary kebab (grilled meat) as opposed to flipping over your meat over a grille. A Döner Kebab can come in beef, lamb or chicken but never pork ;)
The way which it is garnished depends on the country and the region, from Turkey to Greece to other M.E. countries. The only exception is the Persian's version who do not do the rotary kebabs. Strictly skewered and grilled the old fashioned way and then served either with pilaf rice and/or lavash bread (thicker circular flat bread is for Döner/Shawarma) and copious amounts of diced salad stuff ...No creamy sauce such as Tzatziki added, just a dash of lemon juice, vinegar and olive oil salt/pepper mixture poured over.

Lol, after that movie, me and my buddies would quote that line pretty often, "I see pride! I see powah!..."
