So when the pup and I drove to the beautiful downtown La Jolla (pronounces: Lâ Hoyya which means The Jewel) I took a few amateur pics from inside the car. The battle for any vacated parking spot was fierce and she (the pup) was howling and hollering because she saw the ocean which she luvs so much but sadly the La Jolla beaches are not dog friendly.

It is a very beautiful yet touristic enclave with many magnificent multi, multi million $ homes up on the hills. I can't afford to live in there but sometimes I can scratch some gas money to drive the 30 miles or so down south to ogle over one of the most beautiful spots in this beautiful and resourceful country of ours. I hope that you enjoy the crappy photo journalism while on car ride with my pup:

This is Hotel La Valencia; it is kind of a landmark in here and a historic building. The pro photo off the Interwebs looks a lot nicer :D If you ever wanna treat the missus to a romantic getaway, this place is the cat's meow. Kinda like old Hollywood glam without actually going to that cesspool known as Los Angeles!

This friggin place Jose's was like one of my local watering holes and one of the places to get up to no good when I was much younger. I'm falling apart yet this place is still standing!

I lived in Pacific Beach from 80-96 and Scuba dove, Snorkeled and swam the La Jolla Cove quite often. Also spear fished just outside of the preserve and down to point Loma! Beautiful! Great swimming beaches too!

That's kinda insane. I live in minnesota, where the weather is NEVER predictable.... but damn man. That's pretty crazy.
Today it's creeping up near 100F. Tuesday is our first day of school, which may get called as a snow day. Expecting 5" (some forecast say 10") of the white stuff.

96F and a storm warning. What the actual heck?!

I remember in early September a buncha years ago from the news, the Broncos played in the mid 90s on a Sunday and the Rockies got snowed out on the very next Monday. Crazy weather on the plains !!

It hit 106F here in San Elijo Hills, San Marcos today and having lived up here for over 12 years now, I don't recall seeing triple digits like this during the time span! Heck at almost 5 PM west coast tome, we are now at 100*! I picked a great day to work on my cars starting at 9 AM

ETA: Oh, did I forget to mention that we now have a wildfire raging on the east side of the county with a whopping 1% contained? This started yesterday afternoon and despite being miles away from me, this morning I saw some ash settled on the cars parked on the driveway!

They should solve the problem by expanding the ground water pumping program that they have to irrigate the artificial farmland and build some more culverts to carry any remaining rainwater out to the ocean. Heaven forbid it soaks down into the ground!

If they can kill every last thing on the hills, this will be the last time there will be a fire cause then nothing will grow back which will just die and end up burning later.

Maybe they can just pave it all... hmmm....

California desertification, let us see what google says...

Nature is actually pretty tenacious and things do grow back quite quickly! I witnessed this first hand when we had the wildfire in 2014 which led to our mandatory evacuation for a few days. The hill up the road about a couple of miles away was charred back after the fires were controlled and extinguished. I remember driving up and down Twin Oaks Valley Rd thinking to myself that the landscape looked eerily apocalyptic. In the following season and two we had lots of rainfall and then it all grew back fresh and new. Sometimes I think that it must have all been a dream!

This anecdote reminds me of the Chernobyl disaster (of course my wildfire story is no where calamitous in scale) when they were predicting total desolateness and bleakness for many centuries to come and now mere decades later on there are reportedly deers and wolves, among other wildlife, running amok in that area!

Didn't realize you were up on the North side of town. I'm down South near Chatfield. :)

FS: CPK EDC 1 in D2 Steel a package deal.

It's time for someone else to experience this awesome stuff!

This knife has been carried, used, and well loved with honest use and marks that just add to it's character. It is still in fantastic shape with a lifetime of use still left in it. This package will contain an edc1 in d2 Steel. The original sheath and original natural micarta scales with corresponding hardware. In addition it will also come with a leather Jofuu pocket sheath. As well as edc2 maroon linen micarta scales and nice brown antique micarta scales. Leather sheath is practically new. All scales have seen some use but you could hardly even tell.

I'd like to sell everything as a package if possible. I'm asking $425 shipped for everything I listed.

If it wasn't for my newly acquired DEK successfully executing everything I need it to do I'd probably never let this one go. I'll hold out for my Skinner some more ;) This EDC is just too good to have laying around someone else buy it and pocket it.
