Regarding Cliff Stamp. I know that I’m a bit late, but I just wanted to say that I will miss knowing that he is out in the world being himself. He did stir up a lot of controversy, but I think that it was truly just him doing his best to understand things and sharing his findings and opinions. At the very least, he encouraged the people that wanted to think, to think.

Never needing much of a reason to buy a knife, I purchased the above knife after Cliff had mentioned it in an article where he stated (and I hope I have this correct) that a knife with a thin enough blade didn’t need much of an edge. The only place I could find this knife was from a shop in Germany. It was about $11, and I think that the shipping was equal to that. The blade is about 0.048ā€ thick at the handle and tapers to about 0.025ā€ at the tip. It came with a rather obtuse edge that could mush through fruit. A few minutes on the Sharpmaker and it had a pretty decent edge and is now pretty handy in the kitchen.

I guess this is just my long winded way of remembering Cliff, and his contributions to our world. Mike

PS - Happy Fourth, everybody.

"Smells like teen spirit". It wasn't on the radio. I'd never even heard of Nirvana.

Once upon a time, a long time ago, MTV used to play music video on the TV and they were really pretty cutting edge for what they were. I was fortunate and my dad had some pretty ridiculous speakers hooked up to the TV so it was a legit sound system compared to the little speaker that comes on the front of those old CRT TV's that were old enough that they put the word "color" on the front of them so you'd know it wasn't some shitty B&W unit.

I was on the phone with somebody, I don't remember who, and that song came on. I told the person I was talking to that I had to go and I'd talk to them later. I turned it up and gave it my full attention. It was so different and such a refreshing antithesis to the overproduced synthesizer makeup and big hair garbage that was the music of the late 80's early 90's. There's so much false nostalgia now for that era but I'm here to tell you the popular music was really bad. And this totally different sound was what I needed. I still stop what I'm doing and turn it up if I hear it come on.

I am a shameless metalhead and I also have a shameless love for good ol’ 80s butt rock - Cinderella, Britny Fox, W.A.S.P, LA Guns - I love it all.

It took me a long while to like anything Grunge related and even now, I’m not a huge Nirvana fan. I do, however, adore Alice In Chains for whatever reason - something I connected to better than Nirvana.

the good news is, I found a piece of steel for this ridiculous folder idea.
the bad news is, it's a cut off from the khuk project.
the good news is, it makes a ridiculous folder idea all the more ridiculous.
the bad news it, it makes a ridiculous folder idea all the more ridiculous.

I see no bad news in that postšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜‚

Good news? Bad news? The only thing I can discern is that a thick piece of steel might be used. C'mon Lorien Lorien we love WIP photos of your projects!

I finally landed a delta 3V blade that isn’t a CPK. I am very excited. It’s like finding (and paying) for a unicorn.

edit: I got interested in CPK through my interest in the delta 3v protocol and I’ve been trying to find a non-CPK d3v ever since. Turns out they’re not that easy to find—at least for me. Nathan and the crew make it easy.

For your sake I truly hope that this unicorn D3V is either by the maker whose surname rhymes with Leffeler or by the other gent whose rhymes with Etremeshore. However, if you picked one up which rhyme with Revive! I may have to pray for you but fair warning as I ain't a religious man!
