I was never able to get into golf. When I was a teenager, I worked at a local nursery and on our lunch breaks, my boss always insisted that we watch golf. I wanted to watch Xena: Warrior Princess, but no, it had to be golf - especially if a tournament was going on. I hated it. Why watch stuffy old dudes pitching their little balls all over the place to polite applause when I could be watching Lucy Lawless and her... costume, yes her costume was great.

I missed Xena because of golf - therefore I dislike golf. 😏

When camping, we use one of these:

except for the occasional bzzzz, works well, mosquitos, horse flies, even for wasps, and food around :)

Don't ask about the Christmas lights .... :)

Roland.
That's a pretty sweet setup, watch dogs and everything!

I've heard a lot of reasons people dislike golf before but this one is by far the best. 🤣

I remember bleeding from hail in the Wind Rivers when I was up on an exposed ridge. It was both an eye and scalp opening experience.

We have some decent hail around here as well but not quite to the same standard in my experience.

3 years ago our roof cost $20K to replace (19 and change). Our homeowners insurance has gone up 15-18% each of the last several years. It is nuts here for cars and roofs! Whole car dealerships total out their inventory now and then, cars get totaled from hail all the time.

WIthin 20 minutes of me posting that picture, there were two roofing contractors on my street, and one of them already inspected our roof, claim filed 5 minutes later. My neighbor has holes punched in his solar panels (meaning the hail was likely 1.5"+). His truck hood and roof looks like a ball-peen hammer was used.

6 blocks south of me there's no damage.

No escaping Mother Nature when she's got you in her sights...

Speaking of insurance...

When I lived on Key Biscayne in a rental apartment near the beach...following Hurricane Andrew in 1992, for which I did not have to file a claim, my renter's insurance / wind damage and flood insurance went up to an amount several hundred dollars more than what I currently pay to insure my home in the NC mountains with full replacement value on rebuild and contents.

And that was for just $50K worth of contents. Go figure.

Anyone else exercise or train regularly? Could be strength training, cardio, whatever. Just curious if there's anyone else out there.
I wish I could do more. getting older and having young, human children makes it a bit tougher to find time for myself.

I USED to lift real heavy, ate a ton of whatever high protein foods I wanted and had around 17 percent body fat at 250lbs. it was gross. this was about 20 years ago so theres that.

now? Wiser, weaker, less hairy in some places more hairy in others, my shorts fit like a pringles can and my body is the hand reaching in to grab the bottom 6. 😳🤔🤣

I do pushups before work. During work. After work. 30 is better than a cup of coffee.

I've been in my office for like the past 4 hours and I just flicked a god damn yellow jacket off my leg that has been inside my pants this whole time

Takes ants in one's pants to a whole new level.

On the other hand, had he been stung...he might have heard "is that a Kephart in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

😂

Also check for ants and spiders in the nether regions while you're at it!
We have tons of those too, my son says they're his friends. He is always picking them up to play with and accidentally smushing them like Lennie from of mice and men.

Going for that "bee stung" swollen look

When I was a wee lad, my aunt gave me a book of limericks. I found them hilarious and began looking for more, which is why this old one popped to mind:
"There was a young man from Devizes
Whose balls were both different sizes,
One was so small, it was no ball at all,
But the other one won several prizes"

😂

My grandfather was a machinist. He was no Nathan, but they used to say that he could make anything out of metal. In 1940, he moved his wife and three kids all the way from Oklahoma to Charleston, SC to work as a machinist for the huge Charleston Naval Shipyard there, all for a pay increase of five cents an hour. True story. Also generated a pretty good income making window and door screens for folks as a side hustle. This was before Home Depot. 🤣

Got the mail today and one came out of the mailbox with the letters and such and landed right in the middle of my chest.

I did not panic, but lightly brushed it aside (stepped on it on the sidewalk).

2 minutes later I got the shakes and almost threw up. F#<'ng yellow jackets!
