  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I picked up the Kephart from over in the Facebook group.

I take my first child to college this week 🥹
Good luck with that. I remember those days. Leaving them there the first time was difficult. I am very protective and even though my oldest daughter has good sense nobody protects like dad. Then 4 years later we got to do it all again with our youngest daughter. College was a big learning experience for us. When oldest got there and started classes she had brought all supplies they said they needed then the professors start letting them know they aren't going to use those but have to go get all this other stuff. My daughter called me in tears a few times as having to buy stuff for projects. The first time I had her put the sales person from the school store on the phone so I could pay over the phone. Then I would just make sure I put enough into her account for projects. It gets expensive and it took a lot out of my gun fund but that's ok. They are both grown now and married. Time goes fast.

Hope everyone's having a good week. Its been a long hard week here. We have gotten rain every day and I've been helping the framers break down their tower crane so that's been something different. When I say help I'm just steering the load and unhooking cables on the trailers for counter weights, steel plates and whatever else they set there. Been a little quiet on the forum last few days.

Working outside in the high heat and humidity takes its toll on me this time of year. I don't have much left after sweating hard all day. Im counting the days until fall.
Ive also been working towards getting a CNC set up in my shop. We've got some cool projects coming up!

Hope everyone is had a good weekend and enjoying what is left of it. I’ve got a busy week ahead. Looking forward to nice weather this week and one more week closer to my vacation. Hope everyone has a good week.

That's a lot of trips. I typically only come home 2x a month. Right now I'm working 2 hours from the house so I go home whenever I'm not working the weekend or my wife comes to me. Its not the working out of town that bothers me. Its that I can't travel home on Thursday so I can be home a day when stuff is open like Dr office and stuff. I get home on friday night and leave out Sunday afternoon. When I'm flying sometimes that Sunday leave is late morning. So I'm home 60 hours a month. I know I chose this profession but lot of our office people don't know what it is like to live out of town. On another note I have a friend that works for the largest student housing developer/builder in the country and he has told me next year he is going to offer me a job to come work for him. It will be 100% travel but the difference is Monday work from home and fly out Tuesday am to whatever project I'm going to visit. Fly back home Thursday evening and Friday work from home. This is a regional manager position. Sounds good to my wife and I so we will see.
