Rank your Paramilitary 2 (for those of you who have or had one)

Curious question for all you who have (or had) a Paramilitary 2. Over the years I have had 5 different Spyderco Paramilitary 2s. Needless to say I had sold them all, I just never warmed up to them. After much reflection I realized I never took to it as I had too many different knives competing for my attention, and because of that I didn't give it a chance. Well that now has changed as I have sold every single knife I have owned (except for a Cold Steel Kudu and Victorinox Huntsman Lite). EVERY SINGLE KNIFE (including my Striders, Sebenzas, customs and yes all my Spydercos). So I just ordered a Paramilitary 2 and plan on EDCing it for at least a year (with the Kudu and Vic) to try and give it a run to see if it lives up to its all-star status.

With that said the question is out of every knife you have owned and currently own where does the Paramilitary 2 rank for you? Is it in your TOP 10? TOP 3? Or do so many other knives you own outrank it that it wouldn't break the TOP 100? It would be cool of you to also include how many knives you own or had owned. Me I once owned over 227.

PM2 - #1
Manix - #2

I don't have a ton of knives (25-30) and these are my first two Spydercos. Even so, they have quickly become my favorite knives.

Had a 204P one. Sold it. Just didn't work for me, I couldn't find a comfortable way to carry it. It'd probably be around 15 for me, behind most of my current knives. I've found I don't like the hump on Spydies though, so I've been moving more towards the humpless knives. Natives and Lum Chinese, Yojimbo and Manix's , all of them to me weere better in hand.

Honestly out of all the knives I have owned/traded/sold the PM2 is actually one of my least favorites...it just didnt click with me like most people I guess.

Tough question.
Out of the hundreds of folders I've owned it's in the top 10 or maybe even 5. Out of the Spydercos I've owned it's definitely in the top 3. A greater number of choices in blade grinds would put it closer to the top for me.

Hmm, I would rank it in my top 15 out of the 50 that I owned. Its biggest competitor is Southard which is hard to kick out of my pocket in terms of Spydercos. It's good, but not amazing at least out of the two that I've owned. I did customize my PM2 with custom scales and clip, but it still hasn't earned that much pocket time. I might have a different opinion if I expanded beyond the regular S30V blade. For it's price point, it'll definitely be in the top 5. Gayle Bradley is also hard to beat.

Humint, I sorta long for the days when I had one knife and I think a Paramilitary 2 will be a solid companion. I hope you report back in a year. :)

I have owned a black/satin PM2 which I gifted to my brother. I'd say it was in the top 10 of 25 folders I own but I kept choosing my Southard, caly 3.5, and Military instead.

After I got my para2. I stopped carrying my microtech Socom elite. It was sold and I never missed. My Endura has been relegated to kitchen duty. My thermite is for work only. And my Brous Bionic is only second to my Para2.

I have a Green 204P sprint that I have tried to like. Awesome knife, great ergos, but it just doesn't do it for me. I cut several heavy zip ties with it and it just breezed right through them. The edge is still hair shaving sharp. All things that should impress me but I can't warm up to it. It wouldn't make my top three.

Number one for me and I don't even get to carry it as much as I'd like to (to large for hospital carry). I have 3 of them though, brown, blue, and green. If it doesn't float your boat that's ok, it's not like you called someone's wife ugly. There are a ton of sweet knives on the market to choose from and I like seeing and hearing what others favorites are.
