Rank your Paramilitary 2 (for those of you who have or had one)

I own around 40 folders, most of which are Spydercos.

The PM2 would be in my top 3 or 4. I think it and the Sage 1 are near-perfect knives for EDC.

In folders, it'd be in my top 3. The other two are a ZT 566 and a BM 525 (154CM or CPM-M4, take your pick). That's over the Striders, CRKs, WHs, Klotzlis, and customs I've had.

I have 19 folders, all production, mostly Spydies and BM's.
The only folder I have more than 1 of is the Para 2, I have 2 of them.

Overall I would say the Para 2 is my favourite, along with the BM 943.

I have to say before I bought my PM2 I wasn't very interested in Spyderco knives, however that changed once I got my PM2. The price versus quality of materials = great value. The PM2 works as an EDC, Tactical and survival knife. It might not be the best in each category but it scores highly enough in each, for me, to be one of the best all round knives on the market.

I use mine mostly for EDC, opening packages and regular cutting tasks around the home (it's a great slicer). I have large hands and the longer handle feels good in my hand, very secure grip. The compression lock is very solid, it has never failed me and I believe it is one of the strongest locking mechanisms on the market. The blade steel (s30v in my case) holds a good edge and when new came so sharp if you touched your skin it would cut without pressure. As for deployment, I believe this knife has about 6/7 different ways to open, which I don't think you can say about any other knife.

I do find the compression lock is a bit "tricky" to operate and the blade steel can be hard to sharpen but for me my PM2 is still number 1. It's the knife I compare other knives to. I bought a Delica a few months back to compliment my PM2, and I have to say I don't feel the same about it as I do the PM2. The PM2 is such a great knife and they deserve to be used and not put away in a drawer, I wish I had the funds to buy another one.

If I could only own one non-SAK folder (I couldn't live with only one SAK), it would be the PM2. That being said, I EDC my Delica 4 more often because it's more office friendly.

I've got to be honest I will probably be one of the few who doesnt really care for them. I think they are great looking blades and have good ergos but for some reason I just cant warm up to them. I've owned several and have traded/sold them all. Every one I had was definitely worth their price point and I feel like they are a great value but i just have other folders that work and feel better to me.

It's easily in my Top 3, but my Top 3 changes frequently with buying new knives and my EDC has also been evolving over time. I own every variation of the PM2 (aside from black-coated blades), and it's one of the last folders I will ever sell. Another knife comes along every now and then and kicks it out of the pocket for a bit, but the PM2 always finds its way back to the top of the pile eventually.

I'm actually getting down to where I'm running out of production and Mid-tech knives to try out. I don't have a lot of extra cash for customs, and I'm starting to reach the point where I carry and use all of my knives, so I tend to avoid spending over X dollars for a folder unless I can justify it with the fact that it truly is worth the extra money for a user. So if it doesn't get used, it gets sold.

I carry and use all of my PM-2s, so they all justify their worth.

I own probably 60+ folders and fixed blades including Spydercos, Cold Steel, Blackjack, Benchmade and Striders collected over a period of approx. 40 years, I'm an ole retired guy currently living on a farm. When I first discovered the PM2 via YouTube (thanks goes out to Nutn F.) I had to have one, now I have two and would have several more except that I started collecting Striders and they cost a lot, funds are limited. Love the PM2 and the Milli. The PM2 excels in slicing, stabbing and cutting chores. I am confident that it would also serve well in a self defense roll altho I am more likely to be attacked by a rattle snake than a zombie. I have carried the PM2 more than any other knife I've owned. Once I damaged the blade prying out metal staples holding a paper target to a wooden stand. After spending over an hour trying to work out the chip I decided I needed to upgrade to a more durable blade steel or perhaps a thicker blade dimension. I now carry Striders and Leatherman multi-tools when target shooting. The multitool is better suited for staple removal than a PM2.

In general I'll rotate prolly 5 folders depending on daily chores which range from cutting heavy bush with large fixed blades to cutting cardboard or plastic packaging. Current folder rotation includes but is not limited to the Spyderco PM2, Endura in Blue Steel, the ZT 300, ZT 560, Strider SMF or SNG. I would rank the PM2 in the top 3 of my collection. I expect I will always own at least one PM2 and would love to have a collection of them in different steels and pimped handles.

Definitely top 5 for me, probably top 3 though. Gayle Bradley, Chokwe, maybe Domino and CRUWEAR Mili are in there. Southard and Stretch are not far behind as well.

I have 3 PM2's (S35VN, DLC, Satin) and 1 PM (D2) and any time I put something else in my pocket I wind up with a PM2 back in there within a day or two. I have a collection of about 30 knives which don't get a lot of use because of the PM2 ;)

I have about 60 knives, including many discontinued and sought-after Golden Spydies. (See my thread.) The PM2 would be in the top 10 out of all my knives, topped only by customs/mid-techs, some of the older Spydercos, and a ZT or BM here and there.

Just considering spyderco's, its probly top 15 or so. I have owned 2 and traded both because of the blade to handle ratio. I just feel I can get more than about 3" cutting edge out of a handle that size. and the choil does nothing for me because the handle is already plenty big for my medium sized hands. It was smooth, and a great blade, just not for me.

Out of all the knives I've owned, its not in the running because I own about 20 edc's and the PM2 got traded away.

Just for reference, my top spydercos are the Southard, Sage 2, Caly 3 CF, and Dragonfly ZDP. The small knives have choils, but they are smaller, so need the room for the hand. Southard is my favorite spydie by far.

Top 5 for sure, picked up a sweet leather pancake pouch for it... now unfortunately it doesn't see much EDC time after i picked up my southard.

I have about 20 knives in my EDC rotation and the PM2 is in my top 3. It has a good size and weight and is slim. It has a blade size and handle size that I like. I like the lock better than a standard liner lock, although I don't mind liner locks and I'm not a rabid fan of the compression lock like some people are. I like the spyder hole better than thumb studs or flippers.

I looked for one about a year. When I got it, decided 'it's ok', but wind up not carrying it much. Stretch in ZDP189 gets the most carry.
