That works with a decent camera, not with a mobile phone camera, low lighting seems to be really devastating with the latter ...

Those lights, and a 50mm f1.4 lens... you can make the background and sky look like it's midnight, outdoors on a clear day...at solar noon.

It's slightly OT... but the idea is to control the light with the strobes/flash, shutter and aperture, not let the light control you.

I'll have to work on those adjustments. I've forgotten everything from my high school photo class :) Thanks for the info! Sorry to get OT.

looks great, but try having a light source on the opposite side of the tools, sort of like a kicker. adds a ton of depth to the photo while keeping the darkness. just use it as a highlight. and good choices on the lights. got 5 of them myself.

As a kayak fisherman, I always carry a couple of blades with me. How do these knives hold up to regular saltwater exposure? I rinse all my gear after each trip out on the salt.

Thanks,
Jay

That's good news for me too! That means that mine is probably at my parent's place in Bar Harbor (I had it shipped there on account of not trusting a box that important coming to my apartment). I'm heading there Wednesday to drop off some Christmas cookies, so I'll find out then! :D:thumbup:

I don't have any experience with them and saltwater, but they are made from 1095 carbon steel. From what I've heard if you leave them exposed to saltwater even for a little bit they will start to rust, but if you clean them up after I'd think they'd be just fine.
