what ! A RAT 4?!

I've never seen that, it looks great. Just like the rat 3 but a bit bigger. Perfect in my mind. hmm , howcome its not very popular?

Couldn't tell you why they're not that popular, probably because we've only sold about 2000 of them in the last 6 months. ;)

Um, where have you been living your sheltered life at ;)

Just kidding, but I see it at almost every forum I visit and also on my hip from time to time:thumbup:

Lets see some more Orange handled Rats! :-) (no pics of knives w/ animals being injured preferred, thanks)

I am definitely in the market for one!

The only photos with knives and animals I have seen are not "being injured", they are being dressed.

Hell of a difference there.

My apologies Tripton & benchmadebob...I didn't quite word that correctly. What I was trying to say was I wanted to see more pics of the Rat Knife (RC-3 & RC-4) with the Orange Handle without the addition of animals getting dressed or cut up for food - just to see the knife with different back drops, like bearthedog provided - thanks bearthedog!

Haven't had a chance to use my RC-4, but maybe that's a good thing since it's on a small kit with just some essentials in it. It will be there if it's ever needed.

Nice kit, Mike! I'm building some kits based on the same Maxpedition water bottle carrier and I find it to be a great platform for small, unobtrusive kits.

Mike, cool set up you have there man, I’m looking to get a few pouches from Maxpedition, as well just haven’t got around to it yet.. That’s some good pics of your RC-4 too…

Thanks for the comments! The bottle holder is a neat little item to use for a base for a kit, lots of space to attach some pouches and a RAT!

Thanks guys! The main compartment has a Nalgeen 32 oz bottle w/ heavy duty cap, Steripen prefilter, and a metal cup. The main attached pocket has a Steripen Adventurer and some Micropur tablets along with a little keychain light. The attached pouches are an M1 waist pack (holds some CR123batteries, paracord, spark light w/ tinder, whistle, Lumapower IncenDio flashlight, fishing kit, small first aid kit in an Alkosak pouch, and some activated charcoal capsules. There's also a Rolly Polly Dump Pouch and a cocoon (holds some fatwood and neon cable ties). Of course the RC-4 with Molle back is there! A small "bungee" paracord with clips is also attached, not sure what i'd use it for though...

I have some other kits with more items, and this one will probably get some snare wire and a couple other things (suggestions welcome!).

Sounds and looks very similar to my setup except I don't have my SteriPEN in it. I have some Micropur tablets, an AquaPouch for collecting/carrying water and a Aquamira filter straw, all tucked inside the Nalgene branded, Guyot designed stainless steel water bottle. It also has various other items such as fire starting stuff, parachord, emergency blanket, nutritional bars, etc. The main purpose of my small kit is to get me to my vehicle in a suburban environment. Once I get there, I have a substantial BOB along with water and a week's worth of Mountain House freeze dried food that should suffice until I get home or obtain more supplies.

FWIW, I keep my whistles clipped to the outside of my kits so that they are easily accessible in a pinch. That way, if I'm injured and unable to open the kit, I might still have a shot at tooting the whistle. [shrug]
