I'm always looking for better gear to head for the outdoors with and others here might be as well.
Six months ago I didn't know RAT Cutlery existed and now they make some of my favorite knifes.
Got some gear that's worth carrying, maybe it would be good to have a place to hear about it. You can't consider it if you don't know about it.
I would like to post some links to manufactures that make my favorite (non knife) gear and hopefully others will do the same.
Mods, would this be OK? I know, a real adventurer only needs a knife but what about the rest of us.:D

Great call Jeff. Good for covering an injured appendage, carrying water, storing small items in the holiest of holies and for .......protection..... ya know, in those south american villages you guys are so fond of.;)

Condoms? CONDOMS! WE DON'T NEED NO STEENKING CONDOMS! Or...the Rocky Balboa Route, "Condominiums? Ta tell ya the troof, I never uset'em." :D

Condom sources and condom jokes, there's nothing like getting off to a rip snortin' start.
Does anyone have something constructive to contribute? Apparently not. :D

So, the condom breaks....nothing a Glock won't remedy :D

I'll second Jeff on the Carhartts - they truely make excellent durable pants, love the heavy-duty tees, vests, and jackets. I've actually worn-out several pair of the pants (EDW - every day wear!)

Except for Pro Rodeo Wranglers everything I wear is Carhartt, great products.
Lock pick shop? You guys are full of surprises, this is good, all kinds of interesting links.

Jeff,

Did I send you that link to the LAB and Peterson turning tools? If not, you must be psychic, they are excellent tools, my favorites besides HPC heavy/rigid wrenches.

This is a good part of my every day wear / carry whether I'm in town or in the wilds.

Any reason you carry Pentagonlight over Surefire? Usually Surefire gets top billing when it comes to lights!

+1 for the Carhartt comments...I recently retired my decaying leather jacket and got a Carhartt coat..it's excellent.

The E2e, and I have owned two of them and carried Sure-Fires for years on and off the job going back to 90 or 91, was the pinnacle of personal flashlights.

I'm carrying a couple Fenix lights now. Two AA batts give you 100+ lumens and I don't have to put two 7.00 a piece batts in it and don't have to look for them in stores or order them online, I'm happy.

Do they? I think they have been resting on their laurels for a long time now.

It seems everytime someone posts a pic of their EDC gear, there's a Surefire in it. I can't remember the last time I saw a Pentagonlight in someones lineup.

I own one light from each company and like both.

Surefire has fallen behind the curve quite a bit in the last few years. Great lights, but overpriced, hard to find, expensive batteries and just not the lateset tech. I own a few, but they end up staying at home due to their high price and their appetite for batteries.

My everyday light is an Inova. Inexpensive, takes AA's and works great.

I also have a few cheap, powerful lights from Dealextreme.com. I'm impressed with their build quality and brightness.
