RAT machete - Imacasa

Wow, I think I am in love :), LOL.

I need a good machete for my Hunt Filipino Arnis class to get my green sash, going to wait on this one to use for my belt test, no matter how long it takes, this is the machete I want to use :)

Still have some time, just into my gold sash right now, need orange and then green.

Will it have a bottle opener? A saw back? A handle with a secret compartment? Special IR paint? A "bone breaker" edge on the back? A "blood groove"? A brass knuckle handle? A Dundee sheath option? Bayonet attachments?

You are always giving props to your friends down south, why not give it a name that befits both companies.

IMARAT = I'm a RAT

or

RATdeCASA

And a silencer! It needs a silencer.

Cool deal Jeff. Now if we can get Pict to get some of those kick ass leather sheaths he's been showing off imported. . .

i think you should name it after me :D

Cool! We can call it the Suchka!

1.) It's Russian, look it up.
2.) Hint: it's the nickname of the AKS74U
3.) I'm kidding (well, the naming it after you part, I like the name)
4.) Don't kill me when you find out what it means.

Yes, provided you are willing to buy the spray paint from Wal-Mart and do it yourself.

All joking aside, I think guys interested in learning to mod knives, or sharpen (especially the convexing on a belt sander thing) should start with machetes. They're simply the least expensive blade, and the metal is so soft it's easy to work. Of course talking the cheap ass hardware store machete, I wouldn't spend the additional $$ on a RATchete to learn how to mod.

Cpl you do know who's getting all the forum knives right? :D

I was thinking more along the lines of The Mrs!

RATdeCasa = House Rat

RATdeSelva = Jungle RAT.

Hey, that sounds snappy, RATdeSevla, has a ring to it :)

R.A.T. Have you used the new condor 1095 machetes yet ? I have one and I'm not shure if I'm the only one but from chopping one 6-8 oak branch and then batoning it my coating is already chipped of in sections . Pretty big spots actually. I'm not talking about the usual scrapping of the coating . There are spots where it has just come off. some areas seem to be bonded well to the steel and others are just aren't I guess it bonded unevenly .I will post pics as soon as I get a chance. Maybe I got a dud for coatings. The blade itself performs well and is still holding a good edge. Just a heads up . May want to check on that to avoid future headaches.

That was an early QC issue. They went through a major overhaul of the process (which sounded super painstaking from what I understand) and fixed it. Perhaps Joe can chime in on this whenever he resurfaces, since he was the one that alerted them about it (though the flaking was brought up by a member here). :)
