RAT machete - Imacasa

Not trying to be a smart-ass, but so what....it's a machete. If the coating comes off, no big deal. We are not going to warranty the coating and if we find out someone buys one of these as a safe queen then we will refuse to sell anything else to them :D

I agree to some extent . If the coating scrapes off after lots of use that is alright with me and is not a bad thng im my mind at all but if it just flakes away the way mine did its another story . The coating does serve a purpose and should at least take some abuse before giving up. But this is just my opinion. Yo already mentioned no warranty on coatings so i guess you have already decided on that. Here are the pics i promised if anyone is wondering what the heck im talking about:

Thats from using it one time to chop and then baton a 6 -8 inch branch.

Like somebody pointed out there was a QC issue with the earlier 1095 condor machetes and im shure by now its been worked out.

The machete did what it what suposed to and the edge is still sharp. I dont plan on returning it or anything. More than anything just pointing out that i have observed.

You got a dud for a coating. That is a temperature problem with the coating oven, but it has been fixed. In all seriousness, I stripped my coating off of one of mine and it looks great. Threw some mustard patina on it, and she has a gun metal grey finish now that looks cool as ice. If you were worried with rust, you could hit it with clear coat too, or go the other way and get truck bed liner, though it wouldn't cut to slicey after that.
