RAT owners and EDC's

Red ALOX farmer is my EDC due to crappy UK laws

but when I can justify it I carry my Izula and a BM mini ritter

I feel with you - I used to carry other knifes as well, but I'm fortunate enough to be allowed smaller fixed blades as well in Germany ...

I EDC a Case swayback jack and Izula in my right front pocket. In my back right pocket I carry either my blue zdp delica or my BM 530.

On my backpack I have an RC-3 on the shoulder strap, the RC-6 tucked behind the small of the back in a slash pocket, a Boker wharcom clipped through a loop of the molle webbing, an Opinel No. 8 carbon in a tube sheath on the backside of the strap, and then inside it I have a CS K4 necker as a mini chef's knife (to go with my mini Epicurean cutting board) and the blade on my Vic. Swiss Spirit. Possibly a little over-knifed but each one comes in handy for different stuff and I can carry it all comfortably, so why not? :D

Mine varies quite a lot. When I have any kind of knife in my pocket, it's usually a Spyderco or SAK. However, I live in a city, and work on a college campus, so I end up leaving the pocket knife at home a lot of the time, knowing the way people freak out about knives in the city.

When I'm doing my normal work day, I always carry a backpack with my laptop and some gear, and I usually have a slightly larger but still EDC sized fixed blade knife in there. Lately that's been a Swamp Rat Vex made from D2, which I picked up at BLADE. I was hoping to win one of those sweet little HEST's at the show, but I didn't get lucky.

I'm not him but I'll answer for him cause I'm an interfering busybody. That wonderful little device is a Comtech Stinger. As for my own EDC, I've been carrying my Izula lately. Before I got that it was usually my Case Trapper.

thanks for the answer, thats what i tought it was!
Now i have to find if they are legal in canada (brass knuckles arent)

I just got an Izula, so I'm working that into EDC in RFP. Otherwise it's a Spyderco Endura G-10, Ritter Grip, Tenacious or when in more delicate situations, a Bradley Alias II.

I carry my Rat Izula(black), Benchmade 556, and Leatherman Charge TTi everyday for work.

I'll carry a Spyderco Caly 3, Native IV, or a Benchmade Sequel for going out on the town!

What model is the yellow Spyder and does the keychain attachment come with that particular knife?

Hey Don, it's the Ladybug Salt with H1 rust-resistant steel. Just picked it up online a couple months ago, great little knife! I put the split ring on (got those from the fishing tackle section at Canadian Tire). The clip is the Stainless Steel DMMicroClip McGizmo Micro Clip - 25mm tall
$3.00 x 10 purchased from LightHound:

RC4 is my outdoors camp / hike knife. Rat 7 (purchased when they first came out) is my larger go to camp knife and preferred firewood splitter. Day to day it is a folder for me often a Spyderco Caly 3 in an office environment. Weekends I rotate between a Strider SnG, Spyderco Military ,and my latest acquisition a Benchmade LFTi.

I mostly rotate my EDC knives between a Benchmade 943, 556 or Kershaw Groove or my new OD-1. I love the OD1!

i usually EDC a Spyderco UK Penknife, i wanted a Caly3 but in orange so the UKPK is pretty much the same knife without the lock wich i don't mind

i just got my Izula, i never carried a neck knife but i will probably try it this week to see if i like it

I now rotate between 4 knives for edc:

1) black izula
2) rc-3mil
3) busse game warden
4) busse muddy active duty

Usually depends on my mood, outfit and what I'm doing that day. I've stopped carrying my folders altogether.

I don't have any EDC sized RATs yet, but these three make it into my backpack pretty regularly...

Okay......I don't like carrying knives with "teeny weeny" stick tangs all that much ;)

I don't normally comment on other folk's comments, but this was too funny :D

But to answer the original question: Izula makes an excellent edc. With nice pocket sized fixed blades, the only real advantage to a folder is that you can't lose the sheath ;)

I do carry a spyderco delica frequently, along with the Izula.

Last week when severe weather (tornados etc) rolled through I dropped my RC3 into my pocket. Still small enough to pocket but big enough for hard use. Not trusting a little folder if I survive and have to dig out of debris.
