Ratweiler

Is it too big for your hands or just too big for your needs?

Too big for my hands mainly. I could justify it otherwise. IMO, you'll have to be on the top end of a large hand size for this to be truly comfortable.

I have medium hands and don't think it's too bad. But like I said, I think the thinner version will be a little better

Different strokes. I've had some 1/4 thick knives that imo thought grinds didn't work for knives that thick but this one looks like would be good. I love the BGASH with 1/4" thickness. Grind is perfect still letting it be slicey/stabby while thickness giving strength. I know I would like Ratweiler in either thickness but as much as I've tested 3/16" thick knives there ain't much you can't do with them (using responsibility) that will break em. Plus will be able to slice/penetrate much better is a ++++++++++ for my needs. Oh and weight reduction +.

That said fairly sure would love either of these. Still no ding for 3/16" and not complaining.;) Honestly wouldn't mind if don't get dinged til December way things are at moment.:D Fairly sure gonna have to sell unless instantaneous("you ain't leaving me!") love, which I'm afraid of. Need to figure out a payment plan for other 3 orders SOON!

I was surprised it is a little bigger than I figured in a good way. What a knife! Makes my Rodent6 feel like I'm holding a butter knife by the blade. Curvy, fat assed greatness with an awesome choil. I wish I could buy a few more. I'm waiting on a sage/tan 3/16th to go with the black/black 1/4". Love this knife.

The other thing I worry about for the 3/16" version is the height of the grind. I find higher grinds more aesthetically pleasing...

I usually grab an XL glove, although some L fit me. The Ratweiler LE I have in 3/16 has liners, so I'm assuming the grip will be very similar to the 1/4 version. It is right at the top of best handled knives for MY hand, and I expect these new 1/4" CGs to fit me well.

What will be interesting is to handle the 3/16" CG when it gets here. It will not have liners, so I want to see if that's going to make much of a difference. The thin version might be very nice for a M/L hand.

Anybody with an LE or a terror monkey version that does not have liners in the handle? What's your hand size, how does it fit?

I think these are the first skinnies we've heard. Looks like they're moving through them.

I had to do some double-checking of pictures. The saber grind on these 1/4-inchers is definitely ground higher than my LE.

Dinged today on my black canvas on tanker, skinny. I'm confident enough I'm gonna like this knife I'm already starting to cruise the sales looking for another, fat or skinny.
