RC-5 SERE and Neck Knife

Im not a sere instructor but was wondering if the pommel will make a good beer opener? Sort of a silly question .. but there is a certain design purity to the Galil rifle....

I love both concept blades......
here is a name for the neck knife: Jerboa , which is a small about 4" desert mouse like rodent, Jerboa is a RAT but sounds like a snake as well.....

How about MOUSE for the necker??

I have a question about the sheath for the necker. Would the sheath still fit if you decide to wrap the handle with paracord like this?

I love necker knives and kydex sheaths, so I was hoping the sheath that comes with the necker would accomodate the paracard wrap.

The RC-5 Looks pretty damn solid. Wicked pommel (sharpened). What is the estimated pricing?

well there's lots of names for small rodents that might work; since they're not hard to find I think the douchebag patrol will have sniffed them out for preemptive registration even before this post, but some less common ones are:

degu
chincilla
lemming
dormouse
marmot
mole
meercat
vole

& (more common, but I just like them myself)
hedgehog
muskrat

JRJ: Haven't got the pricing worked out yet.

MRpink: I think we can make sure the sheathing will allow for paracord wrapping of the knife.

Oh yeah, the RC-5 looks like a lighter version of the TAK. The only complaint I personally have for the TAK is the weight if you have to use it for a while.

I will get one too, no mater what the final product is. that is how I feel about these products.

We had a question asked on our forum (Outdoor Forums) asking why we were considering producing the TAK and RAT-7 since the RC-4 and RC-6 are similar knives in size, etc. The reason for this is we own the designs, thus own the NSNs on the knives, so we're going to produce a spec'd TAK and RAT-7 in the future with associated NSNs.

Also, the RC-5 will be heavier than the TAK, not lighter.

Just so I get this straight, the RC-5 will be the 1/4" thick saber ground SERE model, and not a RC version of the RAT-5, right? Darn, makes me wish I had gotten that RAT-5 last year. I like your original design 3/16" thick flat grind better. But that's just me. I realize that SERE guys are wanting a thicker, heavier model. Oh, well, I'm sure the SERE RC-5 will be a good knife.

We fully plan on producing both. The RAT-5 that is 3/16 full flat ground and the RC-5 SERE that is 1/4" thick and flat ground half way.

When we were growing up we had a name for little guys you just didn't want to tangle with. We would say "you don't want to mess with that little SOB. He's just "RAT Nasty".

This little necker is just that. RAT NASTY
