Rc3 rat pack knife options

Somehow G-10 just doesn't have that, how shall I put it , that canvas feel...you know like canvas ! A black R-3 Mil with canvas, plus the special RAT PACK screws, engraved EEES symbol, and our RAT PACK #, would be classic. Form and function combined!

Voting for another color besides orange doesn't necessarily mean you wouldn't buy orange. It just means you'd prefer another color.

I'd prefer orange, but will buy one regardless of the colors chosen.

By your logic, there's 50 some people who just flat out won't buy the knife if the handles aren't orange.

It's not my opinion, it's a simple and open review of the evidence before us.
We are trying to meet the criteria for a sellable product, as requested by the company.
We can not assume just because it is a limited run it will completely sell out if it is not desireable by the collective.

I'm not trying to be negative. I will buy whatever is chosen.
But we have to be thinking along the lines of total sales for the item produced. If it becomes something that is sold through the company website as a clearance it will detract from the uniqueness of the Rat Pack!

Has there been any discussion regarding total production numbers yet?

you exercised your right to vote and it did not turn out the way you want ,you do not have to buy it…
this RC3 will not be a production run per say more of a collectors item ,I mean I'll buy an extra one if someone does not want theirs....

These will be produced on a demand basis. No extras are being made, if you order one, it gets made. If you don't, it doesn't.

Well i am going to buy one either way, so that blows your statistics all to hell.

besides, if they get a count before they make them, and not all buy them....then mine will be super limited.

The simple fact RC is willing to do something like this is simply good enough!

This is only a discussion of what the Pack is asking for, and what Jeff has stated is the criteria for the knife.

Does not matter to me if a whistle and flare gun are included.
It is whatever RC says it is, ultimately. And it will be cool!

A reasonable business person understands the economies of scale. There has to be a point where the number produced/ordered is most economical. Especially when extras are being included, like numbering, special screws and the like.
See, only making "x" number, based on pre-orders, might not mean the individual cost is most economical, therefore the unit cost will be higher for the buyer/Rat Pack member.
And, that additional cost can impact the number of orders.

Some will pay more to have the uniqueness, some will not be able to justify any additional cost over a standard model.

Thanks Tony. I read that earlier.
What I am wondering is, what constitutes a few extra? So, I asked Jeff my question.

It does start to limit the uniqueness and collectability when anyone outside the Pack can buy one. Especially at the same price under the same offer.

Anyone outside the Pack should not get one that's numbered, for sure. There needs to be just a little something special about those member numbered ones!


131 Pack members, 135 total handle option voters. As of 11:55EST today.
See? The poll can get skewed rather easily, or at least influenced so that the final outcome is not representative of the Rat Pack collective.
