RC3/Rc4 maxpedition pygamy falconII

So, does it attach securely to the Nalgene bottle and can you leave it on the bottle or do you have to take it off and store it elsewhere to put the Nalgene cap back on? If I were designing this then I would make it so it could stay on the bottle. (they may have done that, thus the reason for my question)

for the cap to fit you must remove the screen and reinstall backwards, water bottler top/airvent toward nalgene bottle opposite of pic for nalgene cap to close. 1/4 turn screen ,locks on to screen water and 1/4 turn to invert to replace cap.

A Surefire G2 with loaded spares carrier is a nice option to have IF you really need the light though, I carry this for back up.

Welcome akula83...,I have a streamlight Scorpion somewhere....batteries are dead and I laid it down and never used it again....great little light as well...I ordered a few more add ons for my pack.

Tony, I love my pack. I also have the battery holder and the admin pouch and they are great add-ons. With mine completely packed out it weighs in at 12 pounds and that includes everything I need to spend 10 days or so in the jungle.

Nt sure where yall buy your Max gear at, but these folks are good people and they also sell RAT knives ;) Tell 'em we sent you if you buy from them. I didn't order the Pygmy Falcon from them though since they didn't have it listed: http://www.emgear.net/

That is great to hear Jeff...It is an excellent lil' pack,I love mine as well....I pick up a few molle short & long clips 2pair each, singl and double knife sheath pouches and a nalgene 10"x4" holder to make another psk around....did you ever pick up the pre filter ?,I ordered some katadyn pure tablets as well...

Got the prefilter. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I think I'm going to like it. The real test will be jungle water and if it works then all I need is chemical purifiers or my MIOX to be good to go.

A lot of this water stuff for us is long-term research. We have several folks we consult for every once in a while that do some stuff down there so we're always looking for a better widget or better idea when it comes to travel in these places.

In fact, this whole jungle survival thing is becoming one big survival research business.

I bet you guys ruined alot of water purify pumps ? what about the Katadyn base camp ,looks like a gallon or two bag like thing you hang up?

Haven't tried that, Tony. Sounds like it would be bigger than what we're looking for though.

Just back from a project were working on in the mountains. A buddy of mine shot this photo of me with the Pygmy Falcon pack about to load up in another friend's plane and fly home. Spent a few days in the mountains and all I carried was this pack, packed as shown here. Plenty of space and gear to live for a long while in the woods.

Jeff, we used a steripen in the desert this summer. Worked great for clear water. We had a girl who used it in somewhat murky, but not bad. Nothing like what you deal with, and she got giardia. She may have cross contaminated, or she didn't double dose the water and stir quickly ect. Don't know, but she said it had to be then. No else had issue. It took 10 days or so for her to get sick, so we had already returned. I will be interested to hear your review. In the mountains of Colorado the steripen has been a dream. As you know, our water is pretty clear. :D

Jeff,
That is a clean looking Beechcraft, from the picture is it an A/B-36 or Baron can't see the front of the Aircraft... like your pack set up as well.

It's a Baron. Got all the upgraded bells and whistles too as far as nav equipment, weather radar, etc. The plane is really clean. Got a 3-place N number as well ;)

As for the SteriPen, the only thing I am using in my go-bag is the pre-filter than Tony introduced me to. I have a SteriPen that I am reviewing and using right now for SWAT Magazine. I like the concept but I think you need pretty clean water to be good to go on these. I carry a Miox in my go-bag.

I've made a lot of additions to my go-bag. When I get the chance I'll post it up.
